Our love letters and day‐to‐day communications for the second quarter of 1999. Towards the end of March I made a booking for Ann on her first visit to me in South-East London, a booking to stay at the Hamilton House Hotel in Blackheath on 3rd to 4th April. What an odd place that was, back in 1999 the decor was 1970s art nouveau and Ann later told me that the proprietor was just as odd! As mentioned, I met Ann at Heathrow. After first going to the wrong terminal I was about an hour late for her flight arrival time but as it turned out, I finally got to the right terminal in a sweat but just about on time to meet her after she'd exited customs and got herself ready for our meeting. We chatted and became better acquainted on the trip to Blackheath. Don't remember the drive back that well but we must have taken a route through central London via the Thames embankment and houses of parliament.  We celebrated Ann's birthday on the 4th June in this quarter.

The emails start in this quarter from the time when Ann had finally returned to New York and I found out that she had been detained at Heathrow with a delayed flight back because of her dual citizenship ‐ she hadn't brought her American passport with her, poor soul.

Hello Ann

Got in from work. Logged in for email. Decided to have a rest. Fell asleep. Woke up at 2.10 am here. I was tired!

Hope that yourself and the boys are well.

Sorry that i missed you tonight, Ann, going to go up to bed in a minute but wouldn't without a letter to you. I don't really have too much to report, though. I wish you'd im'd me - would have woken me up! Another terrible journey home that took nearly two hours again no wonder I'm so tired, most of that time was taken up in the last couple of miles of the m25; no accident this time, just volume of traffic I think.

My hair grows really fast ann, and the guys were taking the mick out of me this morning saying I look like radovan karajic who you probably know has 'big hair'. It's all those spring hormones floating about in me :) I started looking for your flight on line to see which terminal it arrives at before i conked out, so i shall find that today.

I'm on 'lates' tomorrow; it means that I can start a bit later but have to work 'till 6. 1st April now so give me a pinch and a punch for the 1st of the month, ann. I'm an april fool for you and need waking up. :( sorry - I really missed a chat with you tonight, so much looking forward to the weekend, ann.

All my love
your Mal

good morning ann

Hope you are feeling good today. I had a good night's sleep, it's 8.30 here and that's a ly-in for me! Just thought of a good one for you, why not just have 1 cuppa coffee tomorrow, it could help you to conk out on the plane and make you a bit more relaxed. i have a lot to do myself today and tomorrow, so i'll be pretty tired myself when we meet. I'll try not to smoke too much even with my nerves.

Please don't worry how you look, Ann; like i said when we met 'i'm no oil painting'! we're neither of us spring chickens either are we. I'm not worried at all how you look, i know you well and it's you i love ann, frizzy, straight or none! xxxxxxxxxxx you are a lovely person and great to me no matter what, i like to say that looks are only superficial, i should know! I know that you'll be frazzled and tired after that long day but how will i look to you? i hope you don't find me too revolting! so please try not to worry and stop thinking about it. so that's my little speech over. i'll speak to you later on tonight.

Here's a good website for the boys to have a look at
The Easter Egg Archive - The Most Software Easter Eggs Anywhere if they don't know it already.

ps i like the music for this one as well:

I know I stand in line, until you think you have the time
To spend an evening with me
And if we go someplace to dance, I know that there's a chance
You won't be leaving with me

And afterwards we drop into a quiet little place
And have a drink or two
And then I go and spoil it all, by saying something stupid
Like: "I love you"

I can see it in your eyes, that you despise the same old lies
You heard the night before
And though it's just a line to you, for me it's true
It never seemed so right before

I practice every day to find some clever lines to say
To make the meaning come through
But then I think I'll wait until the evening gets late
And I'm alone with you

The time is right your perfume fills my head, the stars get red
And oh the night's so blue
And then I go and spoil it all, by saying something stupid
Like: "I love you"

Hello my dear, lovely, beautiful Ann

I'm sending you lots of kisses and caresses and all of the love that I can give.

I hope that your flight was comfortable and that you got back home safe and sound with that huge case! It wasn't a long time at the airport, usually the way I like it but not with you - I wanted to spend more minutes with you there, before saying au revoir in such a hurry. My house, my head, my soul is full of you, Ann - you did that to me and I love you. I'm so excited that we met and you should know how much I was pleased with what I saw and I only hope that you feel a little that same way for me, I know we were made for each other. You are so good for me, Ann, and I don't want to spend another day on my own, thoughts of you will be with me constantly until we meet in June.

That ticket woman was a little terse with you, don't you think? "you must listen carefully and understand what I have to say" achtung spitfire, eh Ann? You must have maybe looked a little distracted and you were probably cream crackered like wot I am now!

I'm writing having returned a little early from work - I am so really tired, Ann as I expect you were and I hope that because of the time lag you are able to finally have a good rest today. I got to work no trouble and early - not too much traffic. My boss Richard is away next week and he confirmed my next contract for 6 months, with a little extra money per hour - so I really had no need to worry about that, Ann - are you sure you don't have Irish blood in your veins with that luck you passed on (along with the belgian/itie) ? The builders have done quite a bit of work in the back here, Ann - you wouldn't recognize it - there's a yellow skip; 'dumpster' out where I normally park the car and it's already half full of dirt and rubbish from the back, so good progess is being made there. But oh! this place is nothing without you, my love xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Hope that your place is not in too much of a mess with the boys and the micro tv dinners and that they gave you a good welcome back.

I nearly fell asleep at work this afternoon so I'm going to get my head down in a minute. Later on I shall give Willi a good old talking to ;) I'm going to make him stand in the corner!

missing you Ann

Hello Mal
I am so terribly exhausted- i was detained at heathrow till 5 pm because i did'nt have my US passport -i forgot it ! ( they said they would get fined 2000 pounds if they let me board and they said they could'nt afford that! they had to get clearance from Washington ( to prove am a US citizen)
before they would allow me to board a plane (there is a time difference of course so it took simple hours ! i got clearnace at 3 pm and they told me i could board the 5 pm flight! I then got a grilling from Immigration when i landed They took me in a little room and they threw my british passport on the counter and they said 'WE dont recognise that here Ms Cohen "and they also said to me "and we DONT recognize dual citizenship either! they said to me " we dont ever want to see that here! (meaning the UK passport! ) They asked me how i obtained citizenship and so on and then this bald headed nasty man says to me "If you had pulled this 18 months ago before the State Dept changed its rules you would have been out of here " I said to him "i made a mistake i just forgot it" they told me just to leave ! It seems i MUST use both passports when entering and leaving the different countries i must use the UK one when entering the UK and the USA one when re-entering the states- god forbid i should ever do this mistake again! :( i learned a bitter lesson today! how very nasty the Immigration people are here! Gestapo's- throwing their weight around!

I really loved every moment being with you Mal and i love you very much - i am going to go and try to sleep now! its a muggy night here Its a shame such a lovely time had to end with such a nasty nightmare of a day! I also dont want to spend another day away from you either Mal XXXXXXXXXX the feeling is mutual...

Good night,

I love you forever

Your Ann XXXXXXXXXXXXX

Hello my dear Ann

I'm so sorry you had such a traumatic time yesterday. That is terrible that they should treat you so badly; and I thought the UK/USA were 'friendly' allies. Like you said, they were like the gestapo. You must be really exhausted, Ann and I only wish I was there to give you a good hug and a cuddle to make up for such an upsetting day xxxxxxxxxxxxx. I will send you same but doubt whether customs would allow that kind of thing through - no room for love there, by the sound of it. I wonder if they were spying on us! the facists! You'll be fast asleep now Ann and I want to share one of our fabulous kisses in your dream to sooth you.

You must have been so pleased to get back home finally. I really hope that it was not too upsetting for you. It seems that neither side looks kindly on 'dual citizenship' doesn't it. I love you forever my Ann and I'm counting the days until we see each other again. Missing you so much.

I'll telephone tonight and see if I can get you around 11pm here 6 there if that's ok. Don't worry if you have to go out, I can try again tomorrow. xxx

There's another 'dress down day' at work in aid of Kosovo refugees. One of our team, Margaret has her last day today so we are all going for a drink after work to wish her well. She's arranged a meal but I have too much to do to go to that and it's miles away so I'll just stay for an hour or so before they all leave for the restaurant.

I'll say byebye for now Ann. I'm up early here - fell asleep after I wrote you before and slept right through till now. Better get ready for work.

All of my love
your Mal

What are you doing the rest of your life?
North and South and East and West of your life
I have only one request of your life
That you spend it all with me

All the seasons and the times of your days
All the nickels and the dimes of your days
Let the reasons and the rhymes of your days
All begin and end with me

I want to see your face in every kind of light
In the fields of dawn and the forests of the night
And when you stand before the candles on a cake
Oh, let me be the one to hear the silent wish you make

Those tomorrows waiting deep in your eyes
In the world of love that you keep in your eyes
I'll awaken what's asleep in your eyes
It may take a kiss or two

Through all of my life
Summer, Winter, Spring, and Fall of my life
All I ever will recall of my life
Is all of my life with you

Hello my Mal,

I am missing you so much today, still did not tackle that suitcase either- the boys are appreciating even the simplest of home cooked meals- i made spaghetti with meat sauce and even finicky Richard ate it with relish- sometimes he does not eat all of that particular dish! Tamba was so happy to see me home on Thursday - she seemed to have lost the light from her eyes with me being gone- me being her Mummy and all! but slowly she is coming back she must have really missed me! she looks thinner too!

I bought some pens and other stuff- about $10 worth - from the stationary shop today and then i went on to get the groceries - when i came to look for them tonight i could not find them- i must have left them in the shop- :( i am adjusting to the time by now but last night i could not sleep a wink- woke every hour- but thats me- insomniac ! that bloody f**cking hang up caller is back too- woke me up at 7:30 this morning Mal- i just got call # 4 as i type this minute- changing my voice did not work! i am so fed up with it all -so weary of it! whoever it is will NOT stop! well after almost 3 years it won't will it?

I will call you at ten my time tomorrow Mal( 3 pm yours) i hope your feeling ok yourself- did you get any programming done today? thanks for the lyrics , i miss you so much- its hard to get back into a routine here- hard going! i think i'll make some tea- i wish i had some of that delicious torte to go with it though :( oh well i'll have a cookie instead- nothing else here! I will say goodnight Mal....

all my love for you ( forever)

Hello Ann

What am I going to do without you here? I miss our little walks, hugs and kisses especially and to look at you and to talk with you Ann. You must know that I want to ask you something when I come over, something I would have liked to ask you before but it's not the proper way? As I said on the phone I adore and love you as you are and I mean that. I hope that you like me some as well! We belong together and we can have a good life together as you said for the next 30 years or more. All I have here is my few pet spiders and that sometime dead soldier willy to play with :) You're right - it's back to the old routine again - life is just dull dull dull without you to come home to and love.

I forgot to mention in our 'phone chat, we once had this au-pair when we were little called Sabina and that one ruled with an iron fist - she could have been a relation of hitler, Ann. I remember cowering in a corner with my brothers when she 'rounded us up'. She used to clout us! I'll give you three guesses where she ended up - high up in the US immigration service, Ann believe it or not! Peter reminded me of her yesterday. So I wonder whether she has any influence on the staff in that service - more than likely I'd say, from your experience. It seems already like ages since you were here with me in this house and I'm missing you desperately. I may have to come over for a weekend or should I wait for the good 2 weeks?

This lyric describes very well how I feel since we are apart

The very thought of you and I forget to do
The little ordinary things that everyone ought to do
I'm living in a kind of daydream
I'm happy as a king
And foolish though it may seem
To me that's everything

The mere idea of you, the longing here for you
You'll never know how slow the moments go till I'm near to you
I see your face in every flower
Your eyes in stars above
It's just the thought of you
The very thought of you, my love

Hello Mal,

Thanks for your lovely e mail- i always love hearing from you! XXXXX I miss you terribly and was thinking before that just a week ago i was there with you enjoying Easter Sunday, going for our first walk i think- i mentioned the egg rolling they have and you thought i was kidding! :) Being with you just made me so happy and contented Mal! All your feeelings for me are mutual ,Mal i love you so !

That was a amusing tale about the au-pair , and i can really believe it too- you have to have the right personality for that work- USA Immigration :( kindness and compassion dont rank in the requisits at all... In fact you must have NONE to join i think , judging by the way they treated me on Thursday!

Its about ten weeks till the time you come over in June- i looked at the calendar earlier on Mal- a long time away :( an eternity it seems to me! but if you come for a week-end only , jet lag would really get you i think .... it seems ages ago to me too, that i was there and i am so very miserable without you. I finally tackled that suitcase today Mal and got it unpacked and stored away.....i looked at the things i wore to bed - my robe and gowns and they had your scent on them - cigarette smoke :) but i didn't wash them- i just put them in the drawer -its your scent anyway, smoke or no smoke !
YYYYYYY

I did so many loads of laundry today too- to be ready for the new school week, and made those cheese burgers tonight- they were eaten with relish i can tell you! I will finish now Mal - going to go to bed early- still a bit tired......make sure to tell that contractor about those guys nicking and chipping things and taking advantage of there being nobody around! they have no business going in your rooms anyway - apart from using the bathroom! Take care my Mal x x x

All my love to you

Hello my Mal,

Just a little something for you to read in your early morning hour! "i love you"
Y how about that? As soon as i finish this i am going to bed, i am so very tired as i said earlier on today on the im... The dinner was very good and both had seconds. Michael of course should NOT have had second helpings! I am going down with a cold i think- the first one for about a year!

I am glad the work on your house is proceding well Mal,keep on buying those custard creams ! I have to go in the morning to Staten Island to get an exchange on a cosmetic item i bought 3 weeks ago- they sold me the wrong kind!

I think that quirk you mentioned about my talking like i was having a conversation with someone is a Brooklyn habit i have picked up- its the way they talk here and i have gotten into the habit of it i am afraid ! I first used to only notice it- now i talk it too! I think i got it from Josephine....i too, used to think it was funny ,but i should try to break it because other than here in Brooklyn no one else talks that way! :)

I am off to bed now Mal - can't type another word, you will be in my dreams and in my heart as always X X X X X

Love always
(and forever)

your Ann

Hello sweet heart Ann

and good morning! Sorry I didn't get round to sending you some email last night. I got back into that program after we had our little im and while doing that for a couple of hours the machine conked out (not unusual) :( so I decided to have a rest and yes - woke up at 3am on the couch again.

Don't you go changing the way you relate a conversation, ann, I love the way you do that! but then again I love and adore the way you do everything xxxxxxxx.

I hope you don't get that cold you were telling me about and also that it was not from me - it's part of the reason why I was so 'unhealthy' while you were here, everyone at work has the same thing, bad chest etc. I still have mine although it's on the mend. I'm trying to do a little exercise each morning to get fit again, but like you I do get very tired at times.

I was glad to get my ticket booked yesterday - the earlier flight I wanted was already fully booked - must be 4th July visitors like you said. What are we going to be doing at the millennium - I asked about flights at the travel agent and they said that bookings were already being filled for that time. I guess you have enough other worries on your plate to be concerned about that one for the time being.

After I woke at 3 this morning I went up and rested on the bed and my senses were filled with thoughts of you - your lovely rose scent still lingers in that room! How much I could do with you here to hug and squeeze kiss and love, even just to hold your hand. I miss you. I love you.

your mal xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Hello Ann

Thanks for your lovely email this morning. I hope that you don't get this wretched cold that's going around and also that you got your cosmetics exchanged ok this morning in Staten Island. Do those things cost plenty - they look like it. Anyhow I hope you got what you wanted.

There's not much room in here, let me tell you. Just got in from work and the place is filled with plastic windows and doors! The shape of things to come. They did a lot more work in the garden and it looks like it's ready for some concrete for the paving and the foundation of the conservatory.

We've had really stormy weather today ann, one minute sunshine, the next snow and sleet. At the moment it's blowing a gale out there! We all went again to the dog and duck today - it's cheaper than the staff restaurant and better. I had a nice ham sandwich, don't know how the others can eat so much without gaining weight.

It's back to that program for me now :( but not before I tell you that I love you and miss you really badly.

Our love affair is a wondrous thing
That we'll rejoice in remembering
Our love was born with our first embrace
And a page was torn out of time and space

Our love affair, may it always be
A flame to burn through eternity
So take my hand with a fervent prayer
That we may live and we may share
A love affair to remember

all my love

Good morning Mal,

Y Here's my heart:) ( beats all out of kilter when i am with you! x x x x I just checked my calender, its ten weeks , 3 days , not 9 weeks, 3 days till you come here, just thought you should know"! :) you miscalulated Mal!...I hope another day goes by very well with your house, they seem to be good workers, probably dont get very much either!

I ordered pizza tonight - from Scotti's, i had the usual slice with peppers, onions and anchovies on it! i could only manage one slice- there quite big- the slices anyway! i have not tackled the laundry like i said i was going to! its still in the dryer and another pile is in the hamper - all ready to be tossed together and sorted! as yet still untouched! :( i plain old forgot till now !- oh well , always tomorrow.....

Its been only 5 days since we said good bye mal , but it seems like so very long ago to me! How i miss you! miss you and love you ! The movie 'Titanic' was on HBO at 8 pm but i forgot to turn it on for the beginning -no point in watching it - if not from the beginning! anyway its over 3 hours long -i dont think i can stay up that late, i am just too tired! - got to be up so early in the week anyway- about 6:25 am i set the clock for weekdays.

The date you set to come here (june 26th) is fine with me Mal- i will be there of course! I am not sure if i really had jet lag or just tired from staying up till the wee hours with you Mal..it was more the hours we kept i think! :) oh well! it was wonderful anyway ....your so very cuddly x x x x x
Y and how i miss you! :( your right! there must be hardly any room in your house at the moment with all those new windows waiting to be installed! better pick up some more biccies to keep those blighters happy Mal! Those couple of pounds i told you i lost while i was over there have already been put back on - night time binging i suppose! pickles , cookies , crisps, etc - it goes on and on :( Well Mal, i am going to finish now...got to get the things ready for the morning- put coffee in the maker- do my night time ritual of cleansing and slathering on those French creams- wont be putting on any perfume at night though- that was only because i had you with me! Good morning Mal,

I am very stuffed tonight- i went to Bayridge to pick up something and there is a fairly decent Nathans not too far from there- they always advertise as having "The best French fries in Brooklyn" - havent been there since my husband was alive- i dropped in there and got 3 French fries and 4 hot dogs- the fries really are good- they give you this little 2 prong long fork to eat them with- i ate all of mine and Richards leftovers too :(
I hid the extra hot dog in the microwave from you know who! I had a good amount of coke to wash it all down- there goes the diet for real this time Mal! i had to pick up some cartridges for the printer - thats why i was over that way- nothing too much else to tell you- laundry is still not done -might make some coffee and do that tonight -instead of lazing around Its only 7:30 here- i am still tired - but i have to try and shake it somehow! I will finish now - oh yes- one more thing, "I love you"

Good morning Ann

So glad that you liked those violets and that they got to you ok.

I did my usual yesterday; got home - did some work - had a rest - fell asleep - woke up @ 4 - went up to bed - couldn't sleep - came down here to write to you having missed you last night. What an exciting life I lead! Just had our tiny IM - you were up very late Ann and me very early.

The bank really made a cock up of that cash transfer, Ann. They managed to freeze my current account - couldn't get any spending cash out yesterday, so I went in there to get it sorted. All is ok now. The men have done the thing with the concrete here yesterday so I wonder what they'll do next! It makes coming home a little more interesting to see what work they've done and what mess they've made in the house! They also laid sand yesterday ready for brick paving in the garden - it's all taking shape, Ann.

Nothing much else to tell you except that I love you and miss you and to wish you a lovely friday.

Mal, here is the verse that William Shakespeare wrote about the violet.

"Violet is for faithfulness , which in me shall abide; Hoping like wise that from your heart ,you will not let it slide. "

Hello and good morning Ann

Thanks for the verse from willy! There's a ZERO chance of deceit, duplicity or unfaithfulness from me because I love you, Ann. Those are the things that always have happened TO me in the past, making it terribly difficult for me to trust anybody. I know from experience that some women enjoy being manipulative and deceitful but I know that you are not one of those. I don't expect you to behave like a nun either and I hope that you are getting yourself out and enjoy yourself socially, but I can only pray for faithfulness between us because I want to spend the rest of my life with you - scary! xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

So you like shakespeare - here quoted is a special sonnet (written 1598/1609), from him, via me, for you!

SAVE THOU, MY ROSE....
O, never say that I was false of heart,
Though absence seem'd my flame to qualify.
As easy might I from myself depart
As from my soul, which in thy breast doth lie:
That is my home of love: if I have ranged,
Like him that travels I return again,
Just to the time, not with the time exchanged,
So that myself bring water for my stain.
Never believe, though in my nature reign'd
All frailties that besiege all kinds of blood,
That it could so preposterously be stain'd,
To leave for nothing all thy sum of good;
For nothing this wide universe I call,
Save thou, my rose; in it thou art my all.

and some bits about violets:

SPRING
Now daisies pied, and violets blue,
And lady-smocks all silver white,
And cuckoo-buds of yellow hue
Do paint the meadows with delight,
The cuckoo now on every tree
Sings cuckoo, cuckoo.

Hello Mal,

I knew from your eyes in the first pictures you sent me in the past that you have been hurt- i am very perceptive and could see wariness , pain and hurt in them and you must have been really hurt badly!.....as for me! well-just look on me as different from anybody else because i am..i will never, ever hurt you or say ANYTHING that i dont mean..and that comes from my heart- my loving faithful heart Mal ,and you dont EVER have to worry about me being unfaithful to you..i love you and there will be no one else for me as long as i live..and those are NOT empty words either!

So cast aside your fears about me my Mal ,you are in my heart and mind all day long! distance means nothing - as for socialising well., it consists of talking to poor Josephine on the computor or the phone or every couple of months seeing that lady in Manhattan for lunch and shopping! -my life is a little like a nun , but thats the way its been for years anyway and its fine by me anyway- i am on the quiet side as you know and have my boys to raise...i know women lie ,cheat ,lead men on, men do the same thing too- its a matter of character more than sex actually !

I , too want to spend the rest of my life with you Mal, and thats all i think about- wanting to wake up next to you every morning for the rest of my life .I am so happy to have found you- we were born for each other .. I love you Malachy McCauley
Y with all my whole heart!!

hello Ann

Thank you for your message - you know how much that means to me. You make me so happy and I adore and love you so much. We will soon be together to make plans, our world and we two together always. So glad I didn't annoy you too much with my unfounded meanderings this morning, you have made me feel such joy and long so much for you now, a bittersweet feeling to be here alone without my Ann Cohen. I'll write a proper letter to you later but sending my meagre expression of deep love for you now; here I am, yours forever with all of my love

Hello and good morning my Ann

I hope that Monday turns to bring you many good things. How's that? - better than 'have a nice day' ;).

I did the usual again - had some of that stew which turned out very good if I say so myself and then unintentionally fell asleep having NOT written that promised letter to you last night. Woke early - it's quarter to six now so here's my note in a good morning wish and a kiss. I hope that all of those aches and pains that you had from the monster clean up have eased off today. I printed off one of your photos (the little one with the specs) and I hope you don't mind if I take that into work, it will be on my desk for me to look at every day.

Another weeks worth of grit is on it's way to my carpet from the workmen. I did get some biscuits for them when I got the groceries, ann, 3 varieties which i've hidden to provide 1 packet a day. I rewashed those things in the washing machine yesterday that had been in there for a few days and put them in the airing cupboard last night. Such an exciting life I lead here ;). I was looking outside the kitchen window and noticed a little dent in the car, Ann - some frigging kids must have done that yesterday; the car is parked partly on the pavement because of that skip in the little driveway so someone must have done that passing by - really annoying! I'll have to get it repaired. I need to get another instalment ready for the builders - don't want those problems I had last week with the bank. A good hot bath is required now and then off to work. I wonder what sort of progress the building will take this week.

Those are all of the mundane things that are crossing my mind this early morning and they all pale to insignificance when I think of you, my Ann who I love with all of my heart. It's nine weeks now.

Hello Mal,

I just got back from the post office a while ago- picked up some stamps and mailed out a card for you which should reach you by Friday! its a card i found yesterday when i was out getting Michael's prescription filled!..that package i told you about should be there next week because they told me 7 to 10 business days- and thats with priority mail too :( so slow they are! but they are a catalogue and not like the net- next day service like Fedex etc, although a few catalogues DO have next day service -this is not one of them! but they are reliable - i have used them before.

I hope your day goes well Mal and your workers continue to make steady progress! your stew sounded really good, tasty! pity those lousy kids dented your nice car! I just finished having a bit of toast and coffee and juice and now must try to straighten up the house after the weekend. ...then get in some groceries , its weight therapy day for Michael today- wonder if he will mention his weight gain and even more, i wonder if he tells the therapist that he blames me for it- i hardly think so huh Mal? Well i will finish now,but not before i tell you that i love you my Mal- so very much!
Y
Love forever,
your Ann

MMalachy: I was looking in a lyrics archive to finish off that email for you ann
MMalachy: I read a few from the 90s but couldn't find anything good enough for YOU ann
AnnUK: doesent this waking up in the middle of the night interfere with your sleeping cycle and make you tired the next day Mal?
MMalachy: usually I'm ok, ann but...
MMalachy: for some strange reason they turn the heating up at work in the afternoon and I have a file server machine right under my desk...
MMalachy: I feel myself dropping off, my eyelids get heavy
AnnUK: do you?
MMalachy: have to get myself out for 5 minutes
AnnUK: yes- for fresh air
MMalachy: yes - it can get really stuffy in there, ann
AnnUK: yes - especially now its warmer weather and they decide to to up the heat!

MMalachy: yes and when it's cold the thing doesn't work properly :(
AnnUK: i can imagine!

MMalachy: oh yes - I owe you one of me
AnnUK: any one will do
MMalachy: sorry I'm not as photogenic as yourself
MMalachy: i used the pasty ones for the passport
AnnUK: i am not that photogenic- just certain ones turn out better than others
MMalachy: yes - i did promise to have some more done for you - i'll have to get ali or someone to take some of me
AnnUK: yes- when you have the time
MMalachy: i'm not going to mess with the tripod again!
AnnUK: the tech stocks took a nasty beating today-
MMalachy: it's painful :)
MMalachy: oh did they?
AnnUK: ali is lucky he sold when he did
AnnUK: yes down 5.6% in one day
MMalachy: ann - we were talking about that today - he didn't sell :(
AnnUK: oh dear - he didnt?
AnnUK: we got shafted today
MMalachy: no - his stocks went into nasdaq recently but they are still fluctuating wildly
AnnUK: yes i know
AnnUK: nasdaq is hurting a alot today
MMalachy: he was being a little 'greedy'
MMalachy: he had doubled his original investment!
MMalachy: but still refused to sell
AnnUK: my boys college fund was doing so nicely its free falling again- that
MMalachy: i'm sure it will recover, Ann
AnnUK: yes- they spring back- but the road is always bumpy
MMalachy: it seems good medium to long term
AnnUK: yes
MMalachy: can't really go too wrong over a long period
MMalachy: famous last words!
AnnUK: its kind of longish term i think- thats why i am glad that settlement will come along- that nasdaq thing is for long term never make enough for college in 3 more years
AnnUK: it keeps fluctuating all the time
AnnUK: ali should have sold- but in the long run tech makes money i think
MMalachy: yes - there's a boom in technology over the last couple of years but how long will it last
AnnUK: its been fantastic this last month
AnnUK: i know
MMalachy: i think it will settle in over the next few years but a a very good long term investment now
AnnUK: that college fund is comprised of mostly tech stocks and health care Mal!
AnnUK: i have to ride it out
MMalachy: you were saying that the yeild will not nearly be enough to cover the college fees?
AnnUK: last year it was down to just over $24,000 last week it was over $40,000
AnnUK: no it would not be enough for college
AnnUK: my husband never put aside a fund for them when they were born like most people over here do
MMalachy: that seems very good Ann - your accountant did his job
AnnUK: yes - he knows- but......that was last week
MMalachy: yes of course
AnnUK: he has a fund for ;himself in the slame thing and his mother too
MMalachy: oh right, so he keeps a close eye on those things
AnnUK: yes he does
MMalachy: well, I don't have any money in those, ann. Not at the moment
MMalachy: it's all in banks
MMalachy: maybe I should put a grand into one of those
AnnUK: i dont blame you- thats why you can sleep Mal
AnnUK: i dont have to worry anyway- mine is in government bonds insured!
MMalachy: i always worry about unexpected tax bills, ann
AnnUK: i know;(
AnnUK: it doesent pay to invest a small amount - my husband put a $1000 in a small fund 5 years ago- its still only worth 1300- didnt make that much
AnnUK: its in his name only-
AnnUK: i have to still send a death certificate to get that!
MMalachy: that's not very good - make more with a regular bank account
AnnUK: i know Mal- its called the Acorn fund
AnnUK: it was a loser
AnnUK: it had performed well once for years
MMalachy: we have a little game at work, Ann
AnnUK: oh yes?
MMalachy: we speculate using 'virtual' money
MMalachy: we started with L500 each
AnnUK: oh yes
MMalachy: and invest it in a variety of stocks and shares
AnnUK: i see
MMalachy: the best return so far has been on a british company EIDOS
MMalachy: bought shares @ about L2
AnnUK: oh yes- done well has it?
MMalachy: now worth L14 ish
AnnUK: wow!
MMalachy: they make computer games
AnnUK: oh do they?
MMalachy: yes - don't know whether you heard of 'tomb raider'
AnnUK: yes- i have seen it in the computor stores
MMalachy: but you never know when they'll drop again
AnnUK: yes- thats the way it goes
AnnUK: the whole name of the game is to m ake a profi and sell- when you play with pure stocks
MMalachy: yes - very difficult unless you do it full time
AnnUK: i know
MMalachy: and even then
MMalachy: you only need a crash and it's curtains!
AnnUK: yes- a terrible t hought!
MMalachy: i'm going to stick to the virtual L500 i think
AnnUK: yes-
MMalachy: well Ann I'd better go and hit the couch again in a minute
AnnUK: yes you better had Mal
AnnUK: morning will soon be here for you - the morning time to get up i mean
MMalachy: conk out but I'll mail you my little message for when you get up in the morning
AnnUK: ok
MMalachy: yes it will - i'll get maybe a couple of hours shut eye
AnnUK: yes- i am sure you will-
MMalachy: and dream of holding you
MMalachy: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
AnnUK: yes- never letting go!
AnnUK: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

AnnUK: X
MMalachy: goodnight xxxxxx
AnnUK: goodnight- i love you

Hello Ann

Can you keep a secret? I put the biscuits in the washing machine - the only place where they won't look.

Got back from work today and saw that the yellow skip had been emptied. They put it back empty onto my front garden - a lovely view from the kitchen window! Other than that, not very much obvious progress today; they've started digging up round the side of the house for the new paving.

Looking forward to getting the card and those goodies from you, Ann - what a treat - thank you! Did you get those chocs yet? Hope the weight therapy session went well, I assume that he's dismissed Michaels feeble excuses.

Longing for a good hug and a squeeze from your gorgeous self, not to mention your kisses. I love you.

Hello Ann

I got a very pleasant surprise today - your card arrived, with a lovely scent still prevalent on it and an even more fragrant sentiment - THANK YOU for going to so much trouble with it, my Ann - it's truly very much appreciated, and the sentiments are, of course reciprocated. Thanks xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx. You do things to me!!!!

I came home today to find that all and sundry have been using the skip to dispose of their rubbish - the usual thing round here. Anyhow it's full again. The builders have started laying down the brick paving here in the back and it's looking very nice Ann; a nice dark maroon, almost chocolate colour and a very neat herringbone pattern. They've laid about 10 square foot of it so far. The borders are left with earth and I've asked that a diamond be left out also toward the back of the garden for planting.

Ali has skyved off work again today - I didn't realise - he's off to the states tomorrow and I'm so envious! Not quite sure where he's headed for there, but he's going to see a brother over there, ali with his wife and little boy. Anyhow, as usual, muggins here got lumbered with all of his work - problems abounding :( It should have been me!! Never mind - it's nine weeks 1 day to go, tomorrow.

Hope that you are well and feeling ok. Has the bathroom dried out yet? No pub today - quite busy at work. Went in a new bakers and got a fresh roll and a cheese pasty, very good it was too. Had to work late ('till 6) tonight; they've started a rota for staying on late - nobody wants to do it, but now everybody must take a turn. I really enjoyed our phone conversation as well and looking forward to your call - you can call me anytime, darling xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.

Thanks again for the card, I LOVE YOU.

Good morning ann and thanks for the email.

It's st georges day and shakespeare's birthday today...

...NO MAN EVER LOVED

Let me not to the marriage of true minds
Admit impediments. Love is not love
Which alters when it alteration finds,
Or bends with the remover to remove:
O no! it is an ever-fixed mark
That looks on tempests and is never shaken;
It is the star to every wandering bark,
Whose worth's unknown, although his height be taken.
Love's not Time's fool, though rosy lips and cheeks
Within his bending sickle's compass come:
Love alters not with his brief hours and weeks,
But bears it out even to the edge of doom.
If this be error and upon me proved,
I never writ, nor no man ever loved.

William Shakespeare/Sonnet CXVI

MMalachy: mmm - look forward to that
AnnUK: and later on they gave us all an ice cream and later on sandwiches danish and more tea and coffee
MMalachy: when's the best time to fall asleep on the flight
AnnUK: after that - about 40 minutes before you land they give out those visas to be signed
AnnUK: after the movie is over- everyone pulls down the window flaps and makes it dark
AnnUK: and sleeps
MMalachy: right - well I shall pretend to be an 'old lag' at commuting to the states but i doubt i'll sleep
AnnUK: no - its not very cocmfortable unless the seat next to you is unoccupied- give you more room
MMalachy: yes - don't want to be snoring - will keep the whole plane awake
AnnUK: going to you i had all 3 seats to myself
AnnUK: no - better not snore!
AnnUK: :)

AnnUK: you and your snoring! :) xxx
MMalachy: don't think I'll be able to sleep on that flight ann, i'll watch the movie

AnnUK: i love you like crazy!
MMalachy: steady on ;) - i love you too Ann, with all of my heart and soul and body!!!
AnnUK: thems my sentiments 100% too Mal
MMalachy: that bugger Ali is over there now - he's really dropped me in it, ann
MMalachy: some work he did with ISDN and comms stuff before he went DOES NOT WORK properly
AnnUK: yes he droopped you in it good the bugger!
MMalachy: but i'm getting it sorted - he's over in a place called Atlantic Beach??
AnnUK: more aggrivation and more work
AnnUK: i dont know where that is
MMalachy: anyway he's got no right to be there - it should have been me, as the song said
AnnUK: how long is going to be there for?
MMalachy: 3 weeks I think, Ann
AnnUK: yes it should have been you- so tha path of true love can be paved! :)
MMalachy: :) but he's touring about
AnnUK: i see
AnnUK: i would not have been so bad if he had not dropped you with all that bloody extra messed up work!
MMalachy: yes - don't think he'll be there (at work here) much longer ann
AnnUK: no- you said- what will they do - get someone else?
MMalachy: yes - start recruiting again
AnnUK: i see
MMalachy: how was everything there, today Ann
AnnUK: oh i got in my groceries in - took michael for a teeth cleaning- mundane stuff!

Good Morning Ann you lovely gorgeous hunk of lovelyness!

wishing I was there with you for a warm morning kiss and cuddle

well I did what I said I'd do - hit the couch with a telly movie and - you guessed it, fell asleep. i was woken by dave, the builder at about 8! they came right in ann, to see me on the couch in my stripy robe snoring away !!! :)

they came in to do some extra work today, making sure that all the plastic bits fitted on the conservatory. a warning would have been appreciated, though :)

anyhow, after a cup of tea and a wash I made myself scarce - went into woolwich to do a bit of shopping. i had a look out for a card for you, but the ranges that i saw were not up to the high standard that I think you would expect. I do have some decent quality cards here and one is on it's way to you, darling. I got some cakes for the men, and made them some decent coffee when I got back, and we had a good old chat about the people at work that he's done jobs for. John, the builder who lives next door wants to have his guttering replaced as well, so we are now in a joint venture in that regard; dave may be along next weekend again to fit that and this time, i'll make sure i'm up and about!

take care and may all good things happen to you this saturday

in exactly 8 weeks i'm on my way back to you

you are in my heart and mind for ever more, I love you so

SO LONG LIVE THIS....

Shall I compare thee to a summer's day?
Thou art more lovely and more temperate:
Rough winds do shake the darling buds of May,
And summer's lease hath all too short a date:
Sometime too hot the eye of heaven shines,
And often is his gold complexion dimm'd;
And every fair from fair sometime declines,
By chance or nature's changing course untrimm'd;
But thy eternal summer shall not fade
Nor lose possession of that fair thou owest;
Nor shall Death brag thou wander'st in his shade,
When in eternal lines to time thou growest:
So long as men can breathe or eyes can see,
So long lives this and this gives life to thee.

William Shakespeare/Sonnet XVIII.

Hello my Mal,
I thought it was very funny- the men seeing you sprawed on the couch snoring away! :) i bet you felt a bit embarrassed! Like you say , they could have given you a bit of notice first!,- it looks like a nice day here, bright and sunny- in the upper 50's ! how about there -how was it? Its the kind of day that you can do lots with- not too many like this- its either too hot or too cold here usually- in the summer its beastly hot ,and sometimes humid- thats the worst - high humidity! they call them triple H days here! the weather men --- :( Hazy, hot and humid! you can drop then- i mean 90's weather is hot in itself ,but when you have humidity with it- imagine! I am not born to it- no one here likes its anyway! without air conditioning your done for!

I hope your able to rest yourself a bit today Mal- i know you have your program to continue on with, and the mess to deal with , but i hope you can take it easy a bit anyway XXXXXXX.Richard has left for that store for the day, the novelty has worn off a bit but he still goes there for now anyway!i made him some breakfast , bacon, 3 eggs and sausages and toast- skinny thing eats like a horse! poor Michael is the opposite....

I will finish now - i love you very much Mal and will think of you today- i will call you tomorrow at 3 pm your time.. bye for now

love forever,
Your Ann

Good morning Ann

it's a fine sunny day here today, went out to the local shop.

the white cabbage butterflies were flitting through the local greenery and the road was strewn with pink apple blossom petals after a gusty night and I'm in love with you

and i am all yours
mal

YrYrYrYrYrYrYrY

I love you my darling Mal, today, tomorrow and for ever

....and i am madly in love with you too!

Yours forever Ann

good morning Ann

thanks for the note - it always gives me that little pleasurable shock to read anything from you xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

thanks for phoning yesterday too, I enjoyed our phone conversation. It's a thrill for me to hear your lovely light voice in all it's variety and moods again. So sorry that you don't sleep so good, though. I didn't either last night. In the end, like you I got into a cleaning mood and gave that bureau the once over - it was covered with dust then I made chicken legs, ate a few and then conked out as usual. There's a lullaby below for both of us.

Must do the morning things, now Ann but not before I let you know that I adore and love you always. I'll email you again darling when I get back from work - I'm on 'lates' again today so I'll get back here to my world of grit at about 7ish.

Stars shining bright above you
Night breezes seem to whisper "I love you"
Birds singing in the sycamore tree
Dream a little dream of me

Say "Night-ee night" and kiss me
Just hold me tight and tell me you'll miss me
While I'm alone and blue as can be
Dream a little dream of me

Stars fading but I linger on, dear
Still craving your kiss
I'm longing to linger till dawn, dear
Just saying this

Sweet dreams till sunbeams find you
Sweet dreams that leave all worries behind you
But in your dreams whatever they be
Dream a little dream of me

Hello Mal,

Just a quick little note to tell you that those chololates arrived about 15 minutes ago- Thank you XXXX they are in a basket - i have not opened it up yet! they- look very nice, I mailed out a book i to you all about Gravesend, and Coney Island this morning, i was out yeterday and they had it at a local shop- not a book store either- It has lots of old black and white pictures dating back to about 1890 - i think you will find it interesting!

I am pretty sure you have not seen all of these pictures on your web site- it should get there maybe by the end of the week- Gravesend is a very old area of brooklyn -not very far from here- i think Michael went to visit the oldest house in Brooklyn there once- Wykoff house - a school trip about 5 years ago-Gravesend ajoins Coney Island i think!

Well Mal i have to rush now- got to make meatballs ready for when i come home from the weight therapist with Michael later on today :( for all the good it does! Once again ,thank you for the chocolates and i will say it yet again
"I love you so" Bye for now Mal ,

love forever from

Hello Ann

Thanks for the email - what a coincidence - I found a book for you 'Victorian Thames' that I though would remind you of our little walks that we had. There is also a place called Gravesend about 10 miles from here on the Thames. It'll be on it's way to you tomorrow, darling, along with some other goodies x. Thank you for the book on Coney and area, i'll really look forward to getting that in the post.

Glad you finally got those chox and I hope that they are good, they took long enough! - ordered on 14th; same time as the violets!

Not much obvious work done here today by the builders - but they certainly left the usual trails of sand, Ann. Oh well, never mind - it'll be worth it I hope. Nothing much else to report - went to the pub and had a pint and a tuna sandwich - a different pub this time - the 'firkin' not far from work. I went with Robert and Paul and we were talking mostly about ali and the dreadful risks that he takes with money! Still have inherited ISDN and other 'comms' problems at work which we need to get sorted pronto. Did my extra hour tonight - 'the late shift'.

Here's my hope everything has been and will be good for you today, Ann, and my adoration and affection for being YOU. You know that
I love you forevermore.

Hello Ann

The builders arrived early this morning - two new blokes who came to finish the paving. So I'm sorry I didn't get a chance to do my little regular email for you this morning but I hope that you had a very good one.

It looks pretty good - the new paving but the diamond I asked them to leave out is a bit too small so I left a note tonight for them to enlarge it a little bit. I think it was only the two of them here today; there's only a couple of their mugs used. Still got those 'comms' problems at work - they are intermittent and very difficult to trap - it's a complicated process to say the least. We tried a few experiments and I left a little early from work, leaving them running.

I sent off that book to you today airmail along with some other goodies so I hope that you get those soon. I feel tired tonight and I miss you ever so much, Ann. Longing so much to see you again, my love. Tell me not to feel so sad. All my love.

Thanks for your email, it cheered me up a lot x. You must have worked very hard on that kitchen - I know how much work is involved when I do my little one here so it must be at least double for yours, Ann. It's great to go in there when it looks like new though isn't it; even a shame to mess it up by cooking! Mine's getting messy again, mostly thanks to the workmen. I never could get those black things that go atop the oven clean, so I usually do what you do, soak 'em to get the major grime off. I hope that you have slept a little better having done all that work.

Looking forward to getting those goodies from you Ann, I'll keep an eye out for the post. Well it's time for the bath and other morning things ready for work, I woke a little early this morning and as ever my thoughts of you remind me that I love you so much, miss you and long to hold you again. You're the one for me!

Good morning Ann

you are such a sweet thing and so lovely to me xxxxxxxx !!!!!

hope your head is ok after that little port that you had. I feel ok this morning - i forgot to mention, i'm on 'lates', so have the option of going in a bit late as well. I really enjoyed our chat last night, ann it always is such a great thrill for me when we talk, and it's just the other good bits missing - your gorgeous presence to love, kiss, hug and squeeze!

well, i ended up foresaking those tins - it was late so I had a yoghurt in the end, very nice too but I hope you had a bite of your pizza for me. just having my morning coffee now.

those workmen will no doubt walk in here in a minute so I better make tracks, darling. It must feel great to go into that kitchen of yours after such hard work - the luxury and satisfaction that you did all that! Better go but not before i tell you that I LOVE YOU ANN

Good morning Mal, ( it WILL be morning for you anyway)

I had my tea before- brewed it nice and strong! and i just looked out of my front door- still the same lovely clear sky with its partial moon and bright stars beaming down over the roofs of those new houses! i will try to take a few shots- if they dont take, they dont take! i am going to take the kitchen shots in the morning- bright and sunny through that small window in the morning- the contractor only gave me one small window for some reason- i told him i needed a window ledge and he gave me a fairly wide one with matching formica from the counter - THAT he did nice- just wish the window itself had been bigger thats all!

Well i will go now Mal, but not before i tell you that i love you deeply and with all my heart for always...

Your Ann

Good morning ann

There are two things that I need very badly this morning, the first is necessary, the second I could not live without:

1 a bath
2 YOU

I'll get the camera out and take a few pictures when I get back here tonight, it'll be a record to keep of the building process. I have to run to the bath, a bit late (how unusual). Once again I enjoyed our little IM early early early. Let the sun shine on the one I love today. It's you, Ann. be mine forever xxxxx.

Hello Ann

Today, when I got in there was a packet containing the book on Coney and Gravesend along with your nice note. THANK YOU - very interesting and you know that I enjoy looking at literature of that kind - my favourite xxxxxxxxxx very thoughtful of you.

Someone had torn open the corner of the jiffy bag it was in - probably those favourite people of yours - the customs, or it could have been those builders - i told you they get their mits in everywhere in this place; I'm going to ask them tomorrow.

It was a lovely sunny and warm but not hot day today, Ann and we were stuck in work trying to solve those lousy comms problems still - we still didn't get a result either - it is quite a serious problem because the dealers can't get up-to-date information on car prices. Chris, Paul and myself were working on it today and Paul came up with a possible solution this afternoon which is under test as we speak! anyway, Ann we were all slogging away working hard on that one today. No pub but no lates either - I needed to get out of that place! I did get myself out for lunch, though and found something that you will like, I hope, and it will be on it's way to you tomorrow. It's the thoughts of you that make my days now.

Another surprise to me when I got in, the windows and doors of the conservatory are all up, already - it's looking pretty good and I must get some pictures taken tonight for you. I stayed for late this morning - wanted to see Dave about the paving and a few other things so this time he told me that he's turning up tomorrow morning - so no surprises on the couch!

I need to start looking for plants for the borders and the diamond - some nice low shrubs and flowers - i'll look on the web.

I'll say take care and bye for now, Ann and send you more of my neverending love for you

your mal

First I'll send you my love this morning xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx. I adore you more and more every day.

I interrogated those builders this morning, ann - no joy - they said that the packet yesterday arrived and was torn when the postman stuffed it through the letterbox. As to the other parcel - they said that they both just pick up the mail and leave it here on this table. It is always here when I get home, ann, they have to move it to get in and out of the front door. So - no joy about the other package and it didn't arrive in this morning's post, so your trace investigation should bring more info to light. So sorry that it must be a wind-up for you having gone to so much trouble. It is possible that the packet yesterday got torn because I have the letterbox in back to front so it can be difficult to get something like that through it, it could have gotten caught in there. My reckoning is that they're not fibbing, Ann, by the looks on their faces - it was comical really because they both tower over me.

Again, this morning I made myself scarce and did a bit of shopping this morning in Woolwich; got some chops, towels and jiffy bags to send a packet to you. They put up new guttering in the back and brought a kind of little wooden log trim for the borders of the paving - very nice stuff.

Last night I didn't finally get myself anything to eat after all that, ann. I made do with some more of your water - I must have been tired - I went up to bed and straight to sleep. I had a good read of your book this morning in bed, ann and enjoyed it - lovely pictures in there and I was right none of them are on that website of coney; thanks again for that. x

Well, i must now get that packet off to you - they have a post office in Safeway and I need to take in the weeks shirts and pick up the previous weeks ones from the cleaners in there. I'll also get my groceries for the week. So here is me missing you and longing for you with 8 weeks exactly to go. I love you Ann.

Hello Mal,

Thanks for your mail, the builders are probably telling the truth- the guy fom Eire told me last week that it was shipped on the 21st so when they say it takes 7-10 business days to get there ,i wonder do they mean from the day it was shipped or the time they receive the order? if its from the day it was shipped - that means it will more than likely get there sometime next week- i am not worrying about it anymore- it just takes a long time- "express" or not from that company! I see you on line but i wont im you because your busy on that program.

I love you and miss you so badly Mal, glad you enjoyed that Coney book, take care, maybe i will see you later otherwise i will call you tomorrow afternoon your time about 3 or 4 pm.

All my love to you forever

Hello Ann, Good Morning sweet heart xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Here's that one again from those Gershwins. It pretty well describes how I was before I met you, with the noteable exception of the gender used!!! :)

But Not for Me -- George & Ira Gershwin from Girl Crazy (1930)

Old Man Sunshine -- listen, you!
Never tell me Dreams Come True!
Just try it --
And I'll start a riot.
Beatrice Fairfax -- don't you dare
Ever tell me he will care;
I'm certain
It's the Final Curtain.
I never want to hear
From any cheerful Pollyannas,
Who tell you Fate
Supplies a Mate --
It's all bananas!

They're writing songs of love,
But not for me;
A lucky star's above,
But not for me.

With Love to Lead the Way,
I've found more Clouds of Grey
Than any Russian play
Could guarantee.

I was a fool to fall
And Get That Way;
Heigh ho! Alas! and also, Lackaday!

Although I can't dismiss
The mem'ry of his kiss --
I guess he's not for me.

He's knocking on a door,
But not for me;
He'll plan a two by four,
But not for me.

I know that Love's a Game;
I'm puzzled, just the same --
Was I the Moth or Flame...?
I'm all at sea.

It all began so well,
But what an end!
This is the time a Feller Needs a Friend;

When ev'ry happy plot
Ends with the marriage knot --
and there's no knot for me.

enough of that already from those sad old russians - I feel different now that you are in my life, Ann and here's a gem I found for you, that really 'hits the spot' for me:

Night and Day - Cole Porter (1932)

Like the beat, beat, beat, of the tom-tom;
When the jungle shadows fall,
Like the tick, tick, tock of the stately clock,
as it stands against the wall,
Like the drip, drip, drip, of the raindrops,
When the summer show'r is through;
So a voice within me keeps repeating, you, you, you --

Night and day
you are the one,
Only you
beneath the moon
And under the sun.
Whether near to me or far,
It's no matter,
darling, where you are
I think of you
Night and day.

Day and night
Why is it so,
That this longing for you follows
where-ever I go?
In the roaring traffic's boom,
In the silence of my lonely room,
I think of you,
Night and day.

Night and day
under the hide of me
There's an
Oh, such a hungry yearning,
burning inside of me.
And its torment won't be through
'Til you let me spend my life
making love to you,
Day and night,
Night and day.

Hope that you like that one, Ann.

I really do, and long so much for you,

your Mal

Good morning Mal

Hope your feeling good today! someone 3000 miles away loves you so! thats someone's me!XXX I got my nice hot bath tonight- i soaked in it for about 40 minutes- (while the going was good) I have got to fill out some forms tomorrow for Michael's tuition plan for that over priced school of his! i pay monthly and EVERY year with out fail they raise the cost- it went up $230 for next year!nothing new! All those fund raisers they have - Alumni supporting them and STILL they raise the cost!

I took Michael to that stupid therapist and i noticed the peculiar absence of pong today.so as i made my way out of there i noticed that there was no one in those little rooms at all - whether the chiropracter took a day off or whatever ..but its true ! that lousy stink must be coming from people 'cause there's no pong at all today and no people ! -with it being empty the mystery is solved! l was laughing to myself as i went to do a bit of shopping near there(i left Michael to his session) and i could not help it- people were wondering about me Mal- why is that woman laughing to herself-i get that way- think a funny thing and can't help laughing, even when i am alone - got the giggles i did!

The thought of what you said about "old socks" really made me laugh....because its probably 100% true! It made a real change ( a pleasant one at that)- to have no stink for once- amazing!

:) It should always be that way- lousy stinking place!

I have got the gloom myself tonight Mal, now you have to tell ME not to be sad! i feel lonely and miserable - i miss you terribly :(
Oh how i do!

Its almost 11 pm- i am going to try and get a few hours of sleep- got to walk the dog one more time before i turn in - last night was a cloudy night- no visibility dont know about tonight yet! I will say good night to you my Mal and tell you again how very much i love you, and wish i was in your nice little house cuddled up next to you instead of typing these words! :(

All my love to you Mal ,
now and forever,
Your Ann

Hello Ann and good morning darling

Thank you so much for your lovely email this morning. Don't be sad and gloomy, Ann - be happy and at peace in the fact that I will love you for always and forever and that I will do all that I can to make sure that we are together soon. I love, adore and miss you too, of course but life is sweet knowing that I've found the someone for me and that it's you you you! In all of the wide world we found each other xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.

Old socks and linement - i guessed as much; it must have been another old geezer who had the same appointment times as michael. no wonder the cairo practer had to leave the door open!

Hope that the water had a good chance to heat up for your nice bath, ann and that the moon and stars were out for you last night. I'm just about to take one here and then hi ho hi ho it's off to work I go back to those comms troubles. Thinking of you througout the day will completely take me away from the boredom of that drudgery!

I love you.

Good morning Mal

I dont have to ask if you went back to sleep, as i know you did- not like me! Thank you for calling - it was lovely to hear your voice and i am glad that the package has made its way finally from Cork to Thamesmead at least -Pony express!

This morning it was simply pouring down as the kids went to school, it eased off later during the morning though , but remained a dull, cloudy day, kind of chilly too! yes Josephine had only 2 short chats with me on the computor since i got back !here- first one she told me about how her both legs had degenerative arthritis in them and she was very depressed, i think we spoke one more t ime - or maybe it was an e-mail- either way its been over 3 weeks since we had contact! if she wants to be that way - let her be! cant change people Mal...i was always there for her, but, oh well!

I think i must have told you how very much i liked the book on the River Thames Mal - i take a look at it often- very interesting it is- shows you all the places it runs through- and how people in by gone days used to like to go boating on it. etc...mentions a lot of places, picturesque places - even a mention of a whyte Hart Hotel , but not the Bletchingley one of course....lovely sepia type pictures!

Of course i loved those two other little adorable books Mal- but you know how i like those kind anyway XXXXXXXX I just finished my tea- made with bottled water - tastes better! I love you so much Mal , now and for ever! with all my heart!
I will say good night to you now Mal,
forever your Ann

Good morning Ann, sweetheart

I'm on 'lates' today, as I mentioned so I have a little time to write you a bit more this morning to tell you that I love you dearly.

I feel embarrased to say it on the phone because it when I say it, it seems such an inadequate expression of the way I feel about you, but I know that you like to hear it so I'll continue to say and mean that 'I love you' when we talk on the phone.

Ann, the doorbell just went and I your parcel was delivered! It is such a beautiful gift of a little crystal music box, THANK YOU so much XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX. It's lovely and I am delighted with it! You are naughty spending your pennies on me like that (a lot of pennies as well)! I don't have anything like that here so I will have to find a dust free pride of place for it! Thank you again, you adorable girlfriend and love of mine XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX, it is such a very considerate and loving gesture to send such a gem to an old reprobate like me!

You were right about me hitting the sack but it did take me a while to get to sleep up there; as usual I was thinking of our love together there, of course. It's a time that I miss dreadfully the warmth of ourselves together.

I'm sorry that your friend doesn't keep in touch with you, you must miss chatting with her - is that perhaps odd behaviour? I remember you saying that her husband is not the gentlest of people!

So glad that you liked those little prezzies I sent, the books and I hope you get the next one this week, I think you'll like that as well. I took some pix of the building in progress here but I need to finish the film, I wonder if I have the courage to ask the workmen to take some snaps of me for you? I'll have to find someone to take some and then I can send the results to you.

Well, it's half seven now, time to tell you that I love you and adore you, forever Ann and long so much to be with you again. I MEAN IT!!!!!!!! Thanks again for the lovely present.

Hello Mal and good morning,

I am glad you got the music box and like it! i thought it looked kind of nice nice in the catalog, i dont know how it sounds though! your bedroom dresser would probably be the most dust free place at the moment to put it i think! I logged on for a short time this afternoon and i saw you on line - i was going to im you after i checked my news ,and weather ,but my modem disconnected me and i felt tired, s i lay down for a while and fell asleep- had a very strange "end of the world " type of dream too-i dreamed that it went dark as night in the afternoon and i looked out of the window and saw that it had been raining huge mounds of earth and small boulders all over the place- the eletricity was gone in the house too- i woke up feeling aufully groggy Mal! don't know what it means- nothing in particular i suppose!

Hope your day went well for you Mal, after your late turn! by the way your package came this afternoon, the mailman rang my bell with it- i give himgood tip at Christmas always because he brings me important mail - so he always rings me when i have a package too- i really like that towell Mal and the beautiful little book which has some really lovely stuff in it! i have read quite a bit of already! The card was very nice too XXXXXXXX once again the mail arrived from the uk really fast didnt it?

Josephine's behaviour IS odd and yet i see her on line and she sees me- the other night- last week i think - i logged on late to send you a morning e-mail and she immediately logged off- which i thought was very rude- i felt like sending her an e-mail saying "you dont have to log off if you see me Josephine, because after giving me the cold shoulder like you have been doing , i had no intention of im'ing you anyway" i didnt send it though... i think her mind is affected from all that abuse and that kid Mal.. Well my Mal i am going to finish now and i hope i get to chat with you soon- i will call you Sunday as usual.... I won,t finish my letter till i tell you that........

"I love you like crazy and forever"!

Your Ann

Good morning Ann my love

It's a chilly grey day here today so far but it's been like that for the past few days - it usually brightens up later. I have to say "I love you" on the 'phone because I do - it's just that foolish feeling saying it to an inanimate lump of plastic - the 'phone receiver that gets me smiling. You wait 'till I see you; you'll hear it plenty of times then as well, from my lips to your ears direct!!! xxxxxxxxxxx

Please please 'phone me on sunday - it makes my day! I know that you probably have a late night on saturday and are maybe out or like to have a lie in on Sunday but phone me anytime during your sunday there - i'll make sure to pick up. Like I said we are going down to Kent just on saturday so i'll be back here then. If you like I'll phone you!!! You know I love to speak with you even for a short time because I really do love you.

As you know I don't have a weighing machine here but I did notice my tummy in the bath this morning - I must stop eating those fatty foods or at least cut down :)

I eventually got some shut eye last night, thinking about you and our phone chat and your weird dream. Hope I'm not that stranger trying to get in your house for the call ;) Sorry to hear about your friend, josephine - odd behaviour, indeed. :(

Oh well my Ann, time to get dressed and leave for work - no lates today but plenty to do there, never mind, thinking of what we have always makes everything else pale to irrelevance. Darling I do love you so,

your Mal

Good evening my Mal

Just an e-mail to let you know i will call you up on Sunday- just didnt want to call if you had your brothers there thats all! I will call around the same time between 3 and 4 your time! Darrell from customer service in Cork called me up this morning just after i got back from getting my groceries in ..i told him the package was received yesterday morning and i thanked him for calling....he was pleased that it had finally arrived!

I think the workman would not mind if you asked them to take a shot or two of you-... . maybe if you have the courage to do it like you said and i certainly would like to have one of you!. Oh boy Mal! the old geezer sure came in handy today, i had gotten so many bottles of coke (2 litre ones) for the weekend and 2 gallon bottles of Spring water and other heavy stuff- he lugged in down stairs to the basement for me- moaning as usual!- telling me another tale of woe too! J someone who had an op at the local Veterans hospital and was sent home with his incision still bleeding and had to return the next day- oh dear !

I will send my funny poem to you when i finish it Mal, and now i am going to walk Tamba in the yard and then have a spot of lunch - a sandwich as usual! roast pork with hot mustard on it and a slice of cake and pepsi !! and i am sending you all the love in the world Mal.

I love you forever

Your Ann

Good morning my Mal,x x x

Nothing too much more has happened since we chatted on line a few hours ago, i made dinner etc. oh by the way, i got my first phone bill today with the cost of that new calling system i started to recently use called PTI- its really is a good deal Mal, it costs about 4.84 pence in british currency per minute! i converted in with my calculater- American cost is 7.9 cents per minute..i just walked Tamba, its a cloudy night here on the muggy side too!nothing on tv worth watching... going to do the dishes and have an early night- not that i will do much decent sleeping, just read for a while, and hope i drop off- i hope your day goes well for you Mal, and i have just one more thing to say.......

"I love you so much and so deeply that it fills up my whole heart and soul and makes it over flow like a waterfall"

Your Ann

Good morning darling and thank you for your lovely email, Ann

After our chat I did the usual; fell asleep on the couch. I was woken be THE worst cramp in my right shin that I ever had :) so painful that i had to yell out! Serves me right for sleeping there, I'll have to make a point of going upstairs to sleep tonight! Also I know that I was dreaming about you but that cramp succeeded in stopping me remembering what it was about - damn!

I did get to eat that slice of pie before sleeping as per your instructions ;) very good too, it was. What a long chat we had - i really enjoyed it - it went so quick - but hope that I didn't bore the pants off you again, I just love to hear how you are and what you did in the day and how you're feeling. That call rate is VERY good, Ann, I wonder how they do it - there's nothing like that here that I know of.

Well, time for a quick bath before that bugger of a journey to Redhill. I hope that the sun shines for you today in NY and I want to make you know that I care so much for you and love you dearly. Such as it is all I have and all of me is yours forever, my Ann.

All my love and kisses
your mal

Hello Mal and good day to you, Daffodils

Its not been a very nice day here today- rained quite a bit and is damp tonight!- hows the house coming along? Its 5 weeks tomorrow( which was April 3rd ) that i came home to the uk- it seems like ages ago to me, it was the Easter weekend, The boys were so tired when they came hom from school that they went straight to bed, so as a result i have not cooked anything- made myself a Jarlsberg cheese sandwich- that was enough for me- if they wake up expecting anything cooked from me tonight they have another think coming!

Richard came home early from the precinct- but he was the only one that did- the other 5 were kept behind - punished for not showing up on previous occasions and were told"just because your from a posh school, dont think your too good to do janitorial work, because your not" :)

Richard got away with it again , because he never missed a day HE was told"your record is excellent YOU can go" the others had to stay! Richard says they had to clean the entire really dirty ,dusty basement, he said the dust was flying and they had no masks either! he said his friend Mel Jr. is no longer there, he could not take the lowly sweeping and got a volonteer job at the school in the media center a few weeks ago!

So you got a bad cramp in your leg did you Mal? that can be very painful indeed! I have nothing special for tomorrow as usual- i got all my groceries in yesterday- the Russians( just him and her ) went away for a few days- left the baby with the housekeeper!..nothing too interesting to tell you Mal, hum drum stuff...i will finish now but not before telling you that i love you with all my heart Mal and for always X X X X X

Forever your Ann

Hello and good morning Ann darling

Thanks for your email.

As you probably know, I did my usual thing last night; fell asleep YET AGAIN on the couch and woke up around 4 ish here I think - i saw you on the im and tried to contact you for a quick chat but you must have been very tired or busy or even maybe cooking for those boys who woke up! Anyway I didn't get back to sleep again so I carried on and did some work. Tonight I'll make a point of going upstairs this time - trouble is, i start watching a movie on tv and doze off.

is it 5 weeks since you were here ! I agree with you that it seems like an age and I miss you so much Ann. I'm 'on call' this weekend - that means I have to be ready to answer my mobile to any calls from the Helpdesk at work; all the dealers are getting my new software this weekend along with Peugeot and Citroen new prices so if there are any problems I'll get a call. It's quite a good deal though, Ann; I get paid double time for that service. So far I haven't had any calls (touch wood).

Glad Richard didn't have to stay back at the cop shop with his allergies - that flying dust would have done for him! I wanted to make a .wav of the music box for you this morning but the workmen turned up - they are fitting new guttering in the front along with facia; next door has joined in for that job as well - we're both getting new bits there. They are making a hell of a racket ann so i'll send it later today. That cramp was really bad - my leg still hurts from it today!!! Could you please kiss it better?

I just want to tell you that I love you with all my heart and miss you terribly. Longing so much to see you again.

All my love
Your mal

I was walking along, minding my business
When out of an orange-colored sky
Flash! Bam! Alakazam!
Wonderful you came by

I was humming a tune, drinking in sunshine
When out of that orange-colored view
Wham! Bam! Alakazam!
I got a look at you

One look and I yelled "Timber"
"Watch out for flying glass"
'Cause the ceiling fell and the bottom fell out
I went into a spin and I started to shout,
"I've been hit, This is it, This is it!"

I was walking along minding my business
When love came and hit me in the eye
Flash! Bam! Alakazam!
Out of an orange-colored sky.

Hello Mal, X X X

I saw your im frozen on my screen last night- i logged on for a while and left the room to do- gosh i dont even really remember! something in the kitchen and rush out the dog-runs again :( The kids woke up after ten and i told michael to make himself a sandwich of ham and cheese on the fresh rolls i got .. grumpy old Richard woke a bit later and wanted a dish of plain rice - so i relented and made it- grumbling as usual my same old complaint"i am not Mel's dinner"! i always tell him that, but seem to do it anyway-but its that 5 minute rice so it was not much to ask for i suppose..

Thanks for the wav- sounds kind of pretty- i always liked that particular song matter of fact! its a sad one! it always reminded me of my myself- i was pregnant with Michael when i first heard it- must have been '83- because he was born in Jan,'84.. yes your leg WILL still hurt Mal because those muscles are all contracted and stretched during a bad cramp- like a exercise your not used to! if i was there i WOULD kiss it better! :)

Another dull, overcast day here Mal , on the humid side too, i binged late last night - on two things only - the remainder of that Jarlsberg cheese and quite a few slices of that sour cream pound cake and washed it down with milk! old habits die hard huh Mal? I am in dire need of a laugh today, i have to make do with the lady from Manahttan- i make her laugh and now she has to make ME laugh- good therapy for her anyway :) I am so looking forward to chatting with you tomorrow Mal(same time as usual) but maybe i'll catch you on line later today too- i'll look out for you XXXX

I am going to make myself some cereal now, not too hungry from all that over stuffing i did last night though! I love you so much Mal- more than you will ever know!

Bye for now X X X
Forever your Ann

Good Morning Ann

Hello my Mal,

I am very worried that i have made you worried- it will be very hard for me to go to that x-ray place ,but i will try-! i tried to call up my friend in the uk tonight Janette-she knows about my breast trouble -she is the one who told me to put the cabbage in my bra!(she also told me that if it did not clear up i should get it checked) i called a few times and got no reply- anyway, tonight at 11 pm your time, her friend- a very long time friend named Ralph answered and i asked for her , he said "she is not here she is in the hospital and things dont look good for her at all " he said she is on a respirator in the intensive care unit- When i spoke to her on Monday Mal she was all congested and told me that she feels ill..she had sent her friend out for a bottle of cough medicine i think if i remember!

Anyway, he told me that she was sent to the hospital on friday and took a turn for the worse- they dont know whats wrong ,but her lungs have collapsed i think- she used to be a heavy smoker but has cut down- her friend told me he tried to get her stop smoking entirely because he himself is a non-smoker! she is in critical condition at the moment.. she has told me for a long time that she "does not feel well" tired all the time! cant walk etc too good! i called up the hospital tonight myself and the nurse told me in her own words that "she is in extremely bad condition" and "terribly ill"but could not elborate any more because i am not a relative, i asked her if i could leave my phone number for her son chrispher to call me up and tell me whats going on Mal. and she took it down on a piece of paper for the day staff!

She is unconsious and sedated and is unable to talk! i hope she makes it! she has money so they should get her a good doctor- the son is well off too with a restaurant in liverpool.. any way thats what i found out after that long chat to you on the phone Mal- sorry to have burdened you with my lousy worry! it will take me a lot of courage to go on Tuesday- i am a real chicken when it comes to things like this- the last thing i want to do is worry you-its a funny thing- my breast does not hurt right now ! its like when you get to the dentist- it stops hurting :) I love you so much that before i really didnt care if i died or not- but now i have you i feel different! I have to hope for the best! Maye its nothing -i really hope so! Its a funny old life to be sure!

! take my friend Janette for instance, just this past Monday,we were chatting on the phone and now she is unconsious and in critical condition!

The last words she said to me were 'if you dont get better- go get it checked by a doctor and call me up on Sunday" thats today! she also said "you daft bugger, you dont have cancer, i am bloody telling you you dont, but if you dont get a test you will drive yourself crazy and make yourself sick with worry, because i know you Ann - your a worrier"! Those were her last words to me Mal! she is right too- i will pull my health down fretting and not eating ! better i go on Tuesday- what do you think?

I will finish my long e-mail now -i love you so very much that mere words just cant tell you the love i have for you Mal- your my own darling forever love, and i love and adore you completely and unconditionally.

Loving you forever
AnnX X X

Hello Ann and Good Morning my love

I am so sorry to hear about your friend here; that sounds terribly serious - like a very bad dose of influenza. I hope that she makes a recovery - you say she was a heavy smoker and has cut down - perhaps it's a reaction on top of a flu or other virus that's made her ill.

You don't have to apologise for making me worried, Ann - like I said on the 'phone you must share any problems you have with me because I love you. It's what I'm here on earth for -YOU x. I know that you'll need all of the courage that you have for tomorrow but I agree so much with your poor friend who's now so ill, you are the type of person who will make yourself more sick and ill with worrying about it if you don't get it resolved, and the worry and depression will be far worse than the ailment. So get the xrays sent today, buy the rum and go tomorrow - please, Ann, for me xxxxxx, I don't like it when you are in such a depressed state, life is not meant to be so; I am sure of that because we have each other now, something to treasure for me, whatever crisis God sends us. You know that I love you, Ann.

Last night I said more than one little prayer for you - no couch - upstairs this time in that comfortable bed eventually snoring away and keeping the neighbours awake no doubt with it! I'll give you a call this evening if that's all right. Bath and work now, darling. You make sure that you take care of yourself and take things nice and easy - no chasing around after those boys whims, no topping yourself and no more cabbage! Two hearts, darling, yours and mine forever!

your mal

Hello Mal,

I called up that diagnostic place and they didnt get the charts from the old office , it seems that they cant find them - apparently they are in the archives- its been so long since i last had one of those thing :) and so i checked with the old office ,and they did indeed say they cant find them- but they are still looking- it may take a while - how long they didnt say- sloppy record keeping there Mal! :( well i have no intention of having an x-ray taken with out my baseline one so i will wait on that- in the meantime my breast pain gets lesser every day- you know what they said"if it 'aint broke- dont fix it" so maybe its a sign! it IS just a cyst i know that now ! a plain old cyst that got irritated a bit! I have no intention of getting depressed about it anymore- i feel up beat today in fact!

Its a sunny day today - first one for ages and tomorrow promises to be the same ..i didnt have to buy the rum either! :) It was a very sweet gesture to come and take care of me if i slowly croaked, but thank goodness i am not sick-( just a bit of a hypcondriac) going to get my telegram from the Queen :) i love you with all my heart and i promise i wont be dpresssed on the phone any more - your right life is too short to be depressed - all i have to do is not phone up my depressed manhattan friend that often- she puts years on anyone ..

I called up the hospital about Janette- still in critical condition , but stable- the micro- biologist says he likes the anti- biotic they have found for her- the lab results are coming today too, i hope to get a call from her son Christopher , i'll get more from him- they wont tell you much - all they said was they take each day as it comes with this condition- it can swing either way- her heart and blood pressure have been stable for a while ! got to run and take Tamba out- was shopping for fresh groceries this morning! I love you Mal - forever ,with all my heart....more then words can every say- although i hope to put them into words one day - my own special words portraying my feelings for you!

Your Ann

p.s. no more looking up cancer related thing on the internet-only nice garden stuff !

Good morning my Mal,

Doggy is still barking away as i type this:) AND they are revving up that infernal thing too now - so he's really at it strong! It gets this way come the summer days :( racket and din from all over, no country place this, unfortunately! Michael just woke up and ate the sandwich that was in the fridge that i made him for school this morning- he tells me he doesent want the nuggets ,he's full! even better for me Mal....I will try to find out about the attractions to see around here and New York.. as most residents that live here, we never go and see anything that tourists see while they are here...i'll find out for us x x x x As i said tonight the weather here in July and end part of June is usually in the mid to upper 80's! but the lady left an air conditoner in the bedroom on the third floor and its working ok too! The condo where she lives already had airconditioners so she left this one behind!

The barking has subsided now thanks goodness- its gotten dark outside and they must have stopped tinkering with that wretched thing! Your little garden sounds like its going to be nice Mal- does Jasmine need warm weather to come up every year-?it grows down south i know -maybe its a hardy variety! How i wish i had a garden - like i had back home ! :( I had for dinner a couple of slices of ham without any bread i dont feel too hungry- i waited for Chris to call (Janette's boy) to give me an update on his mother, but he didnt! I called the hospital myself after i finished talking to you and the nurse just said there had been no change whatsoever..my brother and his wife toured around Europe a lot in their little sports car (After the last serious accident they had on their motorbike- they got a little sports car) before they had their boy , who came along after they had been married quite a while ! they visited France, Italy, Spain, they loved Spain- they always came back really suntanned!. They also liked Malta a lot - went there several times- they went a few other places but i forget where! Well Mal i am going to do a bit of clearing up - stack the dishwasher and try to keep the kitchen fairly orderely (oven still gleaming by the way) not going to let it get in that condition ever again- too much hard work to clean it!- still have yet to find out if the self cleaning thing still works though!

I am lonley tonight and miss you so- wish i was cuddled next to you - i would'nt even mind the snoring XXXXXXX- i would not leave the room-x x Going to take out the dog soon and see if the sky is clear- make my usuaL wish if its a clear one.... Take care my Mal and all my love to you now and forever

Your Ann

Hello good morning my sweet heart Ann

Thanks for your long email this morning - sorry I was so groggy last night and thanks also for telephoning - I would have done a 4am couch call (11 in ny) to you if you hadn't 'phoned! I staggered upstairs after our chat and hit that sack big time, after having a good think about our chat and making those daily wishes for you! You and the neighbours must be getting really cheesed off with that dog and the moped - I reckon it's the dog that's revving up that moped, Ann - trying to make a getaway upstate, but his legs are too short to change gear.

I'll give you very low odds that Michael stayed up again on the Ultima but I hope he will get himself together for school today. Jasmine, honeysuckle and lavender I got - the garden should be fragrant when it gets going Ann - I still have the climbers, creepers, ivy and vines to get for dressing the fences. I asked Dave to get one of those barrels for water that will get drained from the conservatory roof; he said he will fit it so that when it gets full the water will go down a new drain that they already have put in.

You never mentioned that bike accident that your brother had before - they seem to have done the tour of Europe. Quite a few of the people in the office are taking their holidays in Europe, Ann - all using the channel tunnel and their cars to go over - it only takes 45 minutes to get to France through there. It's very close to that house in kent; that brother, Peter, and I took a wrong turning once when we were down there looking for a supermarket and ended up in the labyrinth that is the entrance - you have to drive a long time to find your way out!

Lates again today, I swapped with Steve who does basketball or something! Gives me a chance to make up for those shortcomings in my dopey conversation last night here in this letter! I got outbid twice so far on that web auction, Ann - there's a couple of days to go on that item so I'll be keeping an eye on the price to see how much it goes for.

I too feel so desperately lonely without you, just to hold and kiss you is my paradise - I am lost without you and when I'm with you I know that I've found home forever. I love you and need you so much, my Ann.

your Mal

and soon, when I see you again:

Tonight, tonight,
Won't be just any night,
Tonight there will be no morning star.
Tonight, tonight,
I'll see my love tonight!
And for us, stars will stop where they are.
Today The minutes seem like hours,
The hours go so slowly,
And still the sky is light.
Oh moon, grow bright,
And make this endless day endless night!

ps where's my cairo poem ;)

Hello Mal,

I called back the radiology office today and they had sent my charts over -they had found them- i mustered up all the courage i had- i was truly petrified, and i went there - i pondered it till the early hours this morning actually,(whether to go) and it was YOU that made me do it !- in your e-mail Sunday night you said "do it for me Ann, i dont like to see you depressed like this" and i did , scared to death as i was- i thought which is stronger?my fear or my love for you, and of course my love for you is much ,much stronger ( and it WOULD have tortored me to death -not knowing actually) i decided to be brave and do it! for you mostly! they told me everything is fine - not a thing wrong with my breast! the doctor did say please try to come once a year from now on, 5 and a half years is too long to go.

I was very touched by you saying that you would have taken care of me if i was sick Mal ,and i would do exactly the same for you too - your right! thats what real love is all about and i do love you so very much. And thank you for your prayers X X X

Forever ever and ever,
Your Ann

HELLO ANN
I bet you must be so relieved to get such a good report - I was wondering yesterday wether you would be able to go or not and I'm so glad that you did - but I am sorry if you were distressed - I love you for having the courage to go through with that ordeal.

There was a gap just then - I decided to telephone you and had such a nice conversation with you, darling. I'm sorry that you are suffering though from that irritating complaint (and I don't mean Richard)! Hope that the paracetemol does the trick and that you will take it easy this evening. I'll join you in a toast, tea and paracetemol - I need one for the headache which now, in fact has all but disappeared after that conversation. I made myself busy with the shopping among which is grapes, pizza, bananas and black chocolate I got; really healthy stuff Ann. Going to chase up that auction after finishing in the kitchen with the washing and groceries. I'd love to kiss you better - allover!

I love you and care so much for you. Take it nice and easy tonight - promise?

Love from your mal xxxxxxxxxxxxx

Good morning my sweet darling Mal- i love you so dearly( but how tired you must be today)

Thanks for our chats yesterday - lovely i enjoyed them

I love you so, tonnes of hugs and kisses

Hello Mal ,

Your must be really dead tired today! i dont know how you dragged yourself in at all...i had another ordinary day really- except that a Russian process server showed up with a subpoena and handed it to me- something with an old patient ( also a russian) who was a long time patient of my husbands- he is sueing someone- an auto accident case and the defendants attorney wants the charts because this guy is probably trying to pull something - a very devious character this Russian patient was ! i fished out that chart from the basement- i dont know how i found it- i had to look for ages down there- it dates back to the erly 80's - I didnt like the idea that i was handed a subpoena- its nothing to do with me! they told me not to worry anyway, just try my best to find it- told me they will re-imburse me for the xerox copying - ( how kind of them) :(

I feel a bit better today- just still a bit painful , but not as bad as yesterday, i made spaghetti, meatballs and hot sweet Italian sausage tonight- cleaning up the range top after i had finished! As i type this you must be sleeping, either upstairs or on the couch! :) i see Josephine on-line right this moment- i have not blocked her yet! she continues to ignore me- its the way a mental patient behaves... i feel so tired myself actually, the dishwasher is doing its work- cleaning up all those dirty spaghetti sauce laden dishes and a few pots and a load of glasses- a full load today! i could not do without that appliance- i used to tear out my hair looking at a sink full of dirty dishes and pots! Well my Mal i will finish now- i will end by saying i love you with all my heart and miss you so!

Forever your Ann

Good morning my darling Ann

You're right, I was 'El Dopo' yesterday, really out of it at work - and so irritable! :) I really slept well last night and up early today feeling good and thinking about you xxxxxxxxx. Glad that you are feeling a bit better after that painful ordeal as well, and I hope that you got some reasonable sleep, too.

I got your lovely little card - it didn't slip through the posties hands after all but it took a while to arrive didn't it. THANK YOU sweet heart - it's lovely and petite like you, and on my bureau being admired right now!

One of those bids I made didn't reach the reserve price, Ann but I managed to do a deal with the seller over emails - I was only $10 short of the reserve. So I got the goods for both those auctions; real bargains compared to shop prices for the same items. They are being sent to me here to begin with - I want to check them out - might need a little restoration. One of them is for you, but whether it's ready for your birthday I'll have to see how they are. Flowers as well xxxxxxxxx!!!

That rusky subpeona server had some front, bothering you - do you have to keep all those records by law? Lucky for him you didn't chuck them out. Wow - so you're in the money with that xerox expense ;)

I remember you saying you would never make spag. bol. again because of the mess on the cooker :) - so you relented - hope none got to the floor! You should leave Josephine on your list - you can see when she's on-line and spy on her but let her contact you, of course - loopy behaviour on her part to lose a friend of your calibre!

Yesterday I found another garden centre after work, much better quality than the other one and I got lots more plants there; heathers, ivy and some vines plus a few other pretty shrubs. Just had a sandwich yesterday so I'm pretty hungry now ann - but that's just my stomach - I'm even more hungry for YOU. At work I've been assigned to writing a helpfile for the new internet system - enjoyable stuff for once!

I LOVE YOU Y

your mal

Good morning my Mal x x x

Here i am - its on the road for 11 pm and i am just polishing off the last of a quarter pound of lox(smoked salmon) in a sandwich :) it didnt last too long- had one sandwich earlier for lunch with 2 big slices of that sour cream pound cake ! I made those big baked potatos tonight with grilled pork chops and corn- on - the cob! and i felt hungry again so i just had the last of the salmon now - anyway i worked hard tonight ,finishing off the laundry - a ton of it as usual, and sorted it and put it away I bet your glad that the renovations and other things are coming to and end Mal- i hate having workmen over! soon you can clean up and keep it grit free! The law by the way says that you must keep medical records for ten years over here, but i dont know if that applies to a spouse- i mean if i had lost them i dont think they really do much( or could they ) :) over here one never realy knows- anyway i found it! got to xerox it next- my husband has in his office this really large commercial size xerox machine - i am going to see if i can sell it- its one of those that has multiple trays for correlating etc .and it reduces and enlarges documents too! i am sure somebody would need it! it was hardly used- maybe a school or some other organization will buy it!

I shall copy those charts on it next week- not bothering this week! .back in a mo....going to walk Tamba...back! its a relatively clear night- a few stars are visible....made my usual wish Mal! its not as clear as some of those bitterely cold winter nights though- i love those!

Josepehine is on- line as usual Mal...let her get on with it! i'll have to see how it goes with her- if she never speaks to me again, i will have to change that living will.you know if i ever got in a coma someone will give the order for the machine to be switched off! well i designated her as you remember- i will have to change that .If i cant find anyone else- i will have to delete that living will thing altogether- i cant ever ask my family to do such a thing! i also left her a token in the will and a piece of jewelry! Enough of that gloomy talk anyway, i will get my telegram from the queen yet! :) I think you asked me what does it mean to have dual citiznship- well the main thing you get is the right to abode in either country !

I am going to finish now Mal, i am very tired! i hope to get a few hours with a bit of luck! Goodnight my Mal, i love you!

Your Ann x x x
Two hearts, (yours and mine)

hello Mal,

Michael is coughing up his guts this morning( i dont think he's faking either so its no school again :( he now has these bad migrains too- it runs in my family that- migraine! Richard and my brother get it bad- and i get it too sometimes too!..I was not offended last night Mal - i was chatting to Maryann after i finished up with dinner , then she didnt feel good- from the medicine and she logged off - i stayed on for a while as usual, nothing on TV and i looked up something for her on a thing they have in some salons here for people with bad complexions and i sent it too her !

I have to go now - make Richard his sandwich for school Mal- i hear poor Michael coughing away:( i really have to find him a good doctor- lots of trouble here !Take care and if i dont see you on line today have a nice day in Kent and i'll call you up on Sunday - same time as always- between 3 and 4 your time. I love you Mal -forever! X X X

Your Ann

Hello Mal,

Just a quick letter to tell you that i am just about to wash my hair- (hate that job) takes ages to dry it... going to leave quite early in the morning- get to her place 11am- taking the subway all the way there- changing trains- saves me money - so it wont be quite so costly for me when i get a taxi home that way- its the quickest way to get there anyway-I called the hospital up- the nurse on duty said to me "still no change - absolutely no change! very poorly " whatever that means! tomorrow makes it 8 days in the intensive care unit- quite a while - dont you think?

I made Richard give me $100 dollars out of his money today and told him to give me the other $40 when he gets paid tomorrow ! thats will teach him a lesson not to use my card in future- he paid up anyway- long faced of course :) Oh well ! nothing else to report much -same old sort of day- i will say good night to you Mal and hope you have a nice day tomorrow in Kent. drive carefully..

Lots of love
Your Ann x x x

Hello Ann

Thanks for your email. Sorry to hear about your friend in hospital here - that situation seems to be terribly serious, it's a long time for intensive care and I hope that she pulls out of it soon and recovers.

I meant to write earlier on tonight but did my usual on the couch and woke up early now to write; by the time it gets to Friday I'm worn out and so tired Ann! I'm just admiring your little card and it's violets message again, even though we're over 3000 miles apart you should know that I will always be faithful and true to you, you are my one and only, and I only hope you can stick with me!

Glad you made Richard pay for that game support - it is expensive and he must learn not to be so fancy free with your creditcards, if I may say so! I hope that Michael's asthma has eased a bit.

Ben 'phoned shortly after I got in, he is coming down by train to Euston station tomorrow morning and will 'phone at 9.15 am to let me know which train he is getting. There's a car park under the station so it's a good place to meet. We'll go straight down to kent from there. Peter also 'phoned and he asked me to get a pizza to go with the lunch he's making! He's going down there by coach. Tom didn't really fancy that journey just for 1 day. I'll drive carefully, we'll return in the evening. I'll remember the camera.

The weather was weird today, Ann - lashing down one minute and dry and sunny the next. My instinct told me not to water those new plants earlier this morning! Paul, Ali and I went to another pub today, 'the Abbott'. They do a very good tuna melt in there and we had a few goes on one of those quiz slot machines. No beer for me - I had a good fruit drink again with it. We talked about gardening mostly as all 3 of us are having work done there! Ali is having work started on his house this week Ann - together with some building and extension work - it is costing him a bomb and I thought mine was expensive. He has come up with some development innovations in his private work and we also discussed this - it could make a fortune for him, enough and more to pay for his garden and other work he's having done. Both him and Paul are thinking about moving on from there.

The builders didn't turn up today Ann but they'll no doubt be here tomorrow to collect the cheque! They usually get quite a bit done on saturday. Still no roof on there yet!

All my love

You are the sunshine of my life
That's why I'll always be around
You are the apple of my eye
Forever you'll stay in my heart

I feel like this is the beginning
'though I've loved you for a million years
And if I thought our love was ending
I'd find myself drowning in my own tears

You must have known that I was lonely
Because you came to my rescue
And I know that this must be heaven
How could so much love be inside of you

You are the sunshine of my life
That's why I'll always stay around
You are the apple of my eye
Forever you'll stay in my heart

Hello Mal,

I got back here around 9pm- had a fairly nice day- went to brunch at a new place called Annies and i had Eggs Bededict with fried little red potatoes and peppers and onions and 2 cups of coffee- my friend was a bit on the gloomy side and i tried to cheer her up a bit- she cant walk to good either- due to her being over weight and her legs and back bothering her- so we had to walk slow- we went to a couple of shops and i bought one thing- a jacket- didnt fancy shopping much! Then i went to this very fancy imported food emporium and bought some little cakes called triple mousse cakes Mal -they were fabulous(they cost $4 each ) and we went back to her place and had them with coffee- we chatted and listened to music.

I can tell you now Mal you will always be MY one and only and i will always stick to you -even if we were a million miles apart- i hope you will stick to ME - we walked the streets of Manhattan a lot today and you were on my mind all the time! I have to tell you that!

My friends friend called when i was out today and he left a message saying that Janette is stable now and during the next 2 days they are going to try and wake her up, so it looks better for her now! Richard paid me some more of that charge card money he owed me from the job today...I should not have done so - but i bought 2 of those mousse cakes home for the kids- Richard and Michael loved them- i know Michael should not have it , but this one time wont hurt will i hope!

Oh boy - i am tired Mal- oh you should have seen tonight at her apartment- i was in the bathroom and she suddenly called to me "Ann come here and bring your shoe-there's a huge water beetle here" I went into the living room and there was a really horrible bug there about 2 and a half inches long :( She was hysterical and soon i was too- she begged me to whack it with my shoe, but i darted back and started to scream , she said "Oh God Ann, PLEASE kill it-i'll NEVER be able to!" so terrified as i was -i edged near the thing and brought my shoe down over it - hard! and squashed it- i got paper towell- picked it up and threw it down the toilet! Biggest one i ever saw Mal:( horrible thing it was!

Well i am going to do my beauty ritual soon and go to bed Mal- i love you with all my heart and will call you tomorrow at the same as usual time,

Forever,
Your Ann x x x x
(yours and mine)

What a right pair we are to be sure!but this i know...

Mal, I love you today, tomorrow and forever!

Ann.

Good Morning my sweet love Ann

I'm silly. You're silly. I do love you so desperately and miss you so much - more every day. I'm here to let you know how much I adore and long for you! For always! To lose you would be my undoing, without those endearing thoughts of you every day my life would end.

Words can't express how much I love you. A shared kiss will go a long way to doing that for us.

your mal
I do love you so - more and more every day!

Hello Mal x x x

I see you on line but your probably very busy and in a short while Michael comes home anyway and i have to take him to that lousy weight place..usless going in my opinion- just browsed the stock rate- Dow is down over 150 today- not that really effects me much! never got past the first 2 lines of that funny poem either so far !My friend in england had a trache perfomed 2 days ago to prepare her for breathing on her own soon they hope- apparantly its so painful after they remove all those tubes from your throat that to breath with a trache helps alleviate some of the discomfort( or so they say) Well Mal i will have to run now , but not before i tell you that i love you so much( as much as the size of ther universe) even bigger

Oh boy i am tired Mal- i did some cleaning and its shattered me today- my energy level must be way down. Bye for now- i hear the key in the door

Yours forever and ever,
Ann XXXXXX

That's me for you, I love you as well!

Good morning Ann

So you couldn't bear to enter the portals of that noxious emporium. I don't blame you - there's nothing worse than an 'orrible pong in such a place as well - I'm surprised that the therapist doesn't notice it.

I hadn't looked at my mail when we im'd yesterday - I got your card - lovely it is with that victorian style and THANK YOU for those sentiments; you surely know I feel the same and I'm longing so much to hold kiss you again as well!!! THANK YOU also for the little page of heart stickers - it's high time I reciprocated with some snail mail to you, darling and when I do, you'll be getting one of those on it with my message. I love the way that you put those little stickers and messages on there xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx but then again I love the way that you are and the way that you do everything! The card has pride of place on my bureau, ready for those workmen to read ;).

I got some emails about 1 of those antiques - the itie guy is trying to get it sent today - but he's another one who's done his back in Ann - I'll have to watch out - it must be catching! I arranged a wire transaction for the other one yesterday morning so that recipient should get the money in the next couple of days. I hope there's no customs duty to pay when I get them through UPS. One of them's for you and both will probably need a little restoration, so may be a little late for your birthday but don't worry - the flower's are on their way ;) to my sweet heart and love of my life xxxxxxxxxxx.

We are very busy at work ann, we have until tomorrow (wednesday) to complete a pilot for the internet system for the dealers - I'm doing the helpfile and sales aids on there - it's interesting though but hectic! Luckily I have you - your picture on my desk sends floods of warmth a feeling of love and affection and happyness through me when I look at your image. I am so excited that soon we'll be together! I LOVE YOU, my ann.

And that's forever - please don't ever think my love for you will wain - it gets stronger day by day!

your mal

bath now and off to work I go - hi ho!

A vampire bat came flapping in from the night covered in fresh blood and
parked himself on the roof of the cave to get some sleep. Pretty soon
all the other bats smelt the blood and began hassling him about where he
got it.

To start with he told told them to "bog off" and let him get some sleep
but they persisted until finally he gave in.

"OK, follow me," he said and flew out of the cave with hundreds of bats
behind him. Down through a valley they went, across a river and in to a
forest full of trees.

Finally he slowed down and all the other bats excitedly milled around
him "now do you see that tree over there?" he asked "yes, yes, yes!" the
bats all screamed in a frenzy, "good" said the first bat, " because I
fucking didn't".

Homer's Beer Prayer

Our lager,
Which art in barrels,
Hallowed be thy drink.
Thy will be drunk,
(I will be drunk),
At home as in the tavern.
Give us this day our foamy head,
And forgive us our spillages,
As we forgive those who spill against us.
And lead us not to incarceration,
But deliver us from hangovers.
For thine is the beer, The bitter and The lager.
Forever and ever,
Barmen

Importance: High
Amazing, but just wait until the end.... Michael Jordan makes over $300,000 a game.
That equals $10,000 a minute, at an average of 30 minutes per game. With $40 million in endorsements, he makes $178,100 a day, working or not.

If he sleeps 7 hours a night, he makes $52,000 every night while visions of sugarplums dance in his head. If he goes to see a movie, it'll cost him $7.00, but he'll make $18,550 while he's there.

If he decides to have a 5 minute egg, he'll make $618 while boiling it. He makes $7,415/hr more than minimum wage. He'll make $3,710 while watching each episode of Friends.

If he wanted to save up for a new Acura NSX ($90,000) it would take him a whole 12 hours. If someone were to hand him his salary and endorsement money, they would have to do it at the rate of $2.00 every second.

He'll probably pay around $200 for a nice round of golf, but will be reimbursed $33,390 for that round. Assuming he puts the federal maximum of 15% of his income into a tax deferred account (401k), he will hit the federal cap of $9500 at 8:30 a.m. on January 1st.

If you were given a penny for every 10 dollars he made, you 'd be living comfortably at $65,000 a year. He'll make about $19.60 while watching the 100 meter dash in the Olympics.

He'll make about $15,600 during the Boston Marathon. While the common person is spending about $20 for a meal in his trendy Chicago restaurant, he'll pull in about $5600.

This year, he'll make more than twice as much as all the past presidents for all of their terms combined.

Amazing isn't it?

---------------------------------------------------------------

However, if Jordan saves 100% of his income for the next 250 years, he'll still have less than Bill Gates has today. Game over. Nerd wins.

---------------------------------------------------------------

Oliver Reed

He once summarised his career as "shafting the girlies and downing the
sherbie". A prodigious drinker, he spent much of his later life being
escorted from various pubs and hotels after initiating what he regarded
as tests of strength".

In one celebrated incident in 1974, Reed invited 36 rugby players to a
party at his home. Between Saturday night and Sunday lunchtime, they
managed to consume between them 60 gallons of beer, 32 bottles of
Scotch, 17 bottles of gin, four crates of wine and a lone bottle of
Babycham. The entertainment concluded with Reed leading the players on a
nude dawn run through the Surrey countryside.

In 1974, Reed made a convincingly doughty Athos in The Three Musketeers.
On one occasion during filming in Spain, the police were summoned to
Reed's hotel to arrest him for dancing naked in a giant
goldfish tank.
"Leave me alone," shouted, Reed. "You can't touch me! I'm one of the
Four Musketeers."

Reed's notoriety increased yet further in 1985 when he married Jospehine
Burge; she was then 21, but had been his companion since she was a
16-year old schoolgirl. At his stag party, which lasted two days, Reed
claimed to have downed 136 pints of beer. But to the surprise of many,
the marriage proved a success, although in 1986 Reed was forced to dig
up nine acres of his back garden after forgetting where he had buried
his wife's jewellery when drunk.

In 1991, Reed appeared on the late-night Channel 4 discussion programme
After Dark (popularly known as After Closing Time). The subject was
violence, and Reed was determined not to disappoint. Drinking wine from
a half-pint glass, he freely expressed his views on the subject,
periodically falling off his chair before kissing a surprised feminist
author and announcing "Right, I'm off to have a slash."
Channel 4 took the programme off the air after 20 minutes; when it
returned, Reed terminated the discussion with the words: "Look, I'll put
my plonker on the table if you don't give me a plate of mushy peas."

How to shower like a woman
Long version: (sorry, there is no short version with women)
1.*Take off the fourteen layers of clothing you put on this morning
because there was a distinct chill in the air due to the temperature
dropping below 33 degrees.
2.*Walk to bathroom wearing long dressing gown and towel on head. If you
see your boyfriend/husband along the way, cover up any exposed flesh
immediately, ignore his juvenile turban gags and then rush to
bathroom.
3.*Look at your womanly physique in the mirror and stick out your gut so
that you can complain and whinge even more about how you're getting fat.
4.*Turn on the hot water only.
5.*Get in the shower, once you have found it through all that steam.
6.*Look for facecloth, armcloth, legcloth, long loofah, wide loofah and
pumice stone.
7.*Wash your hair once with Cucumber and Lamfrey shampoo with 83 added
vitamins.
8.*Wash your hair again with Cucumber and Lamfrey shampoo with 83 added
vitamins.
9.*Wash your hair once more with Cucumber and Lamfrey shampoo with 83
added vitamins.
10.*Condition your hair with Cucumber and Lamfrey conditioner enhanced
with natural crocus oil. Leave on hair for fifteen minutes.
11.*Wash your face with crushed apricot facial scrub for ten minutes
until red raw.
12.*Wash entire rest of body with Ginger Nut and Jaffa Cake body wash.
13.*Complain bitterly when you realise that your boyfriend/husband has
once again been eating your Ginger Nut and Jaffa Cake body wash.
14.*Rinse conditioner off hair (this takes at least fifteen minutes as
you must make sure that it has all come off).
15.*Debate shaving armpits and legs and decide that you can't be
bothered, and anyway the hair helps keep you warm.
16.*Slick hair back and pretend you're like Bo Derek in 10.
17.*Scream loudly when your boyfriend/husband flushes the toilet and you
get a rush of cold water.
18.*Turn hot water on full and rinse off.
19.*Dry with a towel the size of a small African country.
20.*Check entire body for the remotest sign of a spot. Attack with
nails/tweezers if found.
21.*Return to bedroom wearing long dressing gown and towel on head. If
you see your boyfriend/husband along the way, cover up any exposed flesh
immediately, ignore his juvenile turban gags and then rush to bedroom.

Good morning my Mal,

I hope your day went ok- nothing new much here- i did some shopping, cleaned up a bit and talked to my accountant about that tax re-fund that i have not yet received- he told me that it takes about 8 weeks to normally get a re-fund and that i should be getting it soon! Again i feel SOooo tired tonight- feel like dropping! My accountant told me he just got back from a vacation to an island near Haiti called Turquise, he said now he sees why its called that- the sea is turquise blue and the sand is pure white! Told me it was a wonderful place to unwind! It was not packed with tourists- not too commercial ! sounded fabulous!

Talking about fabulous places, your off to Reading on Thursday are'nt you? :) Did your workmen show up today to do any more off the roof or anything? Right this minute i am drinking tea and eating special chocolate cookies with nuts -called Pepperidge Farm Assorted cookies- i'll get some before you come Mal, you'll like them! X X X just finished off 3rd and last cookie :( no more left! oh gosh! i just remembered - i have to fix the belt loops on Michaels school pants tonight- he has been after me for weeks to sew them and i always forget....i hope i see you on line tomorrow before you go away- i missed you Mal X X X (thats because i love you) Well they predict really strange weather here - tomorrow rain and thunderstorms , and by the weekend almost 80 with strong wind- strange ! but they are often wrong with their predictions anyway!

I am going to go now- got quite a few boring things to do- load up the dishes in the machine, fix those pants, walk the dog, and clean up the counter- i am already so tired i can hardly move :( plus i have got laundry going downstairs too! I really love you Mal ,so much X X X and i will say good night now.

All my love forever,
Your Ann

that's you for me

Good Morning my darling Ann xxxxxxxxx

I woke at half three this morning and checked on line and read your email. Like yourself I'm really exhausted. I wanted to ring you or see you on line but you sounded so tired with those chores in the email I thought I better leave it, but I wanted so much to hear your voice and be more in touch with you, I miss you so much my Ann - I have a little of the blues today!

George Lucas has money burgeoning from every orifice and I added to it yesterday when I bought and sent off the new star wars books for my nephew Sam's birthday! Strangely enough, his mother 'phoned me late at work - I hadn't been in touch with Bridget for about a month. I told her about my weekend with the brothers and about the letter I want to send to the executors. She said I should fax a draft to her and gave me a fax number. She invited me over to dinner on Friday but I postponed it until Friday week - I'll probably have plenty to do after my trip to glamourous Reading tomorrow. I have nothing to bring them, Ann - that program is not yet completed. I spoke to my contact there yesterday, Jan - security must be really strict there - they needed my car number plate etc.etc. I'll spend the time looking and analysing their current system (lotus 123) and try to arrange better communications with them.

Dave the builder was here yesterday morning hobbling about - he looks in a bad way with his back. They put some of the roof up, looks good. My neighbour called round (he's a builder too) and said I should put something on the roof panels as they're not clipped in yet so I put some bricks on there. The weather here is like your forecast, Ann - very windy and rainy. I paid Dave the last main instalment so there's just a smaller final payment to go which I'm going to hold back until it's all done - Ali is still waiting for some bits to be done - his mrs made the mistake of paying up before work was finished.

The description you gave of your accountant's hols sounded fabulous although I did see a progam some time ago about haiti - there was anarchy there! Because of my vivid imagination lying in bed last night silly thoughts ran through my mind about you and him! I told you once that I suffer from jealousy and that's how it manifests itself - stupid I am and I try to stop myself feeling that way!

6am here and now for my bath and early to work - have to finish off those help and information internet pages. As is my pleasant preoccupation these days, you'll be constantly in my thoughts xxxxxxxxxxxx.

I do love you so, my Ann.

Good morning my darling Mal, X X

I hope your day goes well for you - i love you dearly! Please get those foolish thoughts about that accountant out of your head once and for all - dont torture yhourself over a thought that comes into your head and gets blown out of proportion! Apart from the time he picked up my taxes in March and told me that Manhattan was a good place for mr to move to ,our conversations have mostly been over finances and other related things I have know him for 3 years, since my husband passed, i picked him out of the yellow pages and have been quite impressed with how he handles money! but thats all there is Mal- he has never even made a pass at me- he has a little boy thats two years old i think! so please get that silly unfounded notion out of your head- The guy does raise his fees though - double from last year!

That beautiful time we shared over Easter was the first physical contact i have had with a man for well over 8 and a half years now- and it was heaven x x x and with you and only you will i ever have contact with Mal...i belong to you alone, forever and always because you are the man i love, i would wither and die without you- i love you so! i want to hold when your tired and rock you to sleep! i want to nurse you when your sick, and just plain love you in every way!

I will look forward to your phone call sometime today Mal ! by the way ,by the time i made the franks and potatoes my baby boy (very big baby) Michael was sound asleep- I am logging off for the night now- this flaming computor is acting up- that modem sound- going to get cut off soon i think-( at least i get a warning) Good night my Mal..

Love for ever

Good morning my Mal,

I hope you got a good night's sleep- no doubt you did! and it was lovely to talk on the phone to you again x x x I am in between doing wash loads of laundry again- finished dinner- i ate some of it after all - Michael,as usual came back for second helpings- i have no control over him! That lousy therapist seems to not do too much good- at least in the weight control department- which is why is supposed to be going there- tries to put it all on me by telling me to hide food! the idea is supposed to get him to WANT to lose it....oh well!

Can't wait to talk to you again Mal XXX i love you so! The weather here was lovely today- i looked at the newspaper and saw that the weather in London was sunny and about 68 too, (about the same as here) so you had nice weather there too...Janette's friend Ralph called me up and told me that she is still on the respirator , but is breathing 4 out of 12 breaths on her now,( the machine's computor tells you how many breaths you take on your own etc. ) although at one point during the week, she needed 75 % oxygen, now she needs 60, its gone up since last week- her need for oxygen, but he said that her all around condition seems to be improving- they said her blood oxygen level was good- whatever that means! It seems like a very long process Mal !

Well i will go downstairs soon and do some more laundry- throw some in the dryer and do another load ! its never done ..the emotional words in my last email to you just about sums up all my love for you Mal- every single word of it! I just love you so much! Goodnight darling X X X

Everything xxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxx

Good morning darling Ann

I hope you got a little extra sleep after the previous late night and that you're feeling good today. You're my true love and I have such a yearning for you!

I remembered I'm on a late stint today so I can leave a little late for work. I really don't mind that journey - the last part makes up for the completely boring M25, driving through the country road - I forgot to mention - there's vacancies at the whyte harte ;) advertised on a chalk board outside.

On saturday, I'll be putting down bark before i start planting all those climbers and shrubs from the garden centre. I also want to put creosote on the back fence and small shed and paint the adjoining fence with timber cover. Should be a little exercise that will do me good on the weekend. Going to start on the cut-down program for the pru - this version should be a simpler matter and shouldn't take too long to complete. I completed the pilot installation test last night but no email address to send it to! Will 'phone them today.

High time I got my hair cut again, ann and get that luggage as well - so I'll see what my pals at work are doing at lunchtime - might be playing golf on the driving range or the pub again if not, hair cut. I'm sitting here in my stripy dressing gown ready for a bath. Thoughts of you swimming through my mind as ever :) I do love you so. I'm yours and your mine.

your mal

Thank you for the lovely card xxxxxxxxxxx
YYxxxxxxxxxxx we won't be such 'cool cats' today with the hot weather due :) you're lucky with your air conditioning xxxxxxxxxx

Good morning Ann

I thought my regular thoughts and wishes for you my darling Ann last night. I have to say it again to you - I do love you so much and adore you.

Up here looking after emails and such - will have to send a cashier's cheque (whatever that is) for that antique. No reply from that seller as yet! Got myself a nice cup of coffee this morning - no builders here today so far, ann; don't think they're coming today. Doing my regular saturday a.m. thing with the coffee, email to you and listening to 'sounds of the 60s' on the radio in the background. Just about to go out to the garden centre - had to look on the 'A to Z' for a local one - to get that bark.

I hope that you had those things to eat because you felt just a little better last night; I don't like to think of you in such desperate straights with the situation there, and hope also that you had at least some decent sleep after rumaging about in the murky depths of your basement:) Willy was asking for a good slap this morning but I completely ignored him as per your orders:) He'll no doubt be pestering me more and more often but like me he will have to wait. I don't intend to pander to his whims or worry about him!

Hope it all goes well with those removals this morning Ann. Off out now, darling so I'll say bye again for now and tell you I love you and send loads of very special kisses and hugs to my one and only ANN. XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX.

Because you're mine
The brightest star I see
Looks down, my love, and envies me
Because you're mine, because you're mine

Because you're mine
The breeze that hurries by
Becomes a melody and why?
Because you're mine, because you're mine

I only know for as long as I may live
I'll only live for the kiss that you alone may give me

And when we kiss
That isn't thunder, dear
It's only my poor heart you hear and its applause
Because you're mine

I only know for as long as I may live
I'll only live for the kiss that you alone may give me

And when we kiss
That isn't thunder, dear
It's only my poor heart you hear and its applause
Because you're mine

Hello my Mal,

I see you on line but your probably busy and i have to get moving- didnt check those cabinets last night;( got to rush and take some plastic bags down now , make sure nothing is worth keeping-got to be careful with old records - files -by the looks of things, but if their more than 10 years old you CAN dispose of them- this i know.....i love you with all my heart Mal - forever and i will talk to you tomorrow - same time - same place :) between 3 and 4 your time x x xx bye for now

Forever your Ann
yours and mine

Hello my Mal,

That lousy movingman - the junk man called up after 9 today and said that his "partner"had not showed up- could not do the job today- :( said will tomorrow be all right? i said "yes, but try to make it early"he said"yes if my partners awake" partner of his must be a boozer- they are all deadbeats - the people in these kinds of business's -junk and stuff! I got up early today for nothing- i hate when people do that don't you Mal? so if i call you later tomorrow you'll know why- they are here and moving that stuff- its not much of a job really- half an hour at the most- i dont even know if they will show up for sure!

My friend is recovering after all-i called up her friend tonight and he said she is conscious and is able to write things down on a writing pad- she still has the trache in her throat , but is out of danger- he said it was really touch and go though! He said she is starting to receive solid food now and they think she also has a slight diabetes in her blood! they dont know what triggered off that severe asthma attack! but thats the thing with asthma- you never know when you are going to get an attack! Thats why i worry so much about Michael, Mal.

Its only about 7:30 here, but i am logging off for the night! dont know what to do with the rest of the evening- i have only got the dishes to load up in the machine- thats about it really...laundry is all finished- till next time ! clean and folded and put away..Wish we were spending the evening together Mal- that would be so wonderful wouldn't it ?The weather was about 72 today- a lovely day really- clear and sunny! How is wish i could have left Tamba in the back yard for a few hours- she would have loved to have tried to chase after the birds and squirrels around here, but the nasty people would call the police on me- her barking you see! :( its ok for the Ities next door, but its not ok for me Mal!

Well Mal i will say goodnight now- i love you so very much, and even if there's a program to watch on TV i will still be thinking of you ll the time . Goodnight my darling Mal X X X

Forever your Ann,

Good morning Ann

Hope you are feeling good today and that the bloke turns up - with his sidekick this time!

I'm busy still doing the fence - it takes ages. Done one side, one more to go before you 'phone - don't mind if it's a bit late xxxxxxxxxx. The paint for the fence goes on an orange colour but dries to a nice deep reddish brown - looks pretty good. I had to go and get some more this morning, along with more sacks of that bark to go over the borders.

Looking so much forward to hearing your voice today again, I miss you so much and long for you - it would be lovely (and will be) to spend time together again - the rest of my life will do! We'll have fun together xxxxxxxxx. I often miss you and feel lonely for you in the evening and worrying that my sweet heart is being harrased and put upon by the boys.

BACK TO WORK FOR ME!

I love you so much my Ann

Good morning my Mal,

It was a nice little surprise to see you online last night- as i said i logged on to send you your morning e-mail..i already told you that i got soaked.....i had to go to about 4 different places including a large clothing chain called the Gap ..which sells all casual clothes - huge chain-maybe you have them over there too -i bought richard 2 shirts- one black and one navy blue- , short sleeves with collars- he is only a slim kid but likes oversized shirts - i got him ex large..thats the way they seem to wear them- loose and baggy over jeans!

i schleped to a few other places - it stopped raining by the time i reached home but by then my hair was a right mess! stuck under the hood- got all curly and wild - i didnt bother to blow dry it though- my hair has two seasonal looks - winter time its straight- come the summer its all curly -my hairdresser cuts layers in in then- tells me to leave it alone- let it curl naturally- dont fight it- everyone says the wavy curls looks nice -i have no choice -its humid here! Have you heard of "Bad hair days" ? well i think it orginated here in this hot humid summer climate- everyones hair going to pot! :(

I am e-mailing josephine tonight - a cool e-mail asking her for that cooler bag back- to please e-mail me to let me know when that lousy husband can drop it off- i will tell her i need it for the Memorial day weekend- that bag cost me $39 plus tax- it keeps ice cream cold all day- i need it to pick up things from Manhattan- that delightful gourmet shop near my friend- those wonderful cakes and other delicious stuff- thought i will go there before you come and get a few things- pay her a visit too-i have to get that bag back... could go one of those mousse cakes right now :(

Well Mal i am going to log off- very tired indeed- got to walk Tamba (she got to the garbage pail again today) what a brat! strew a trail of garbage from the kitchen into the living room! always does it when i am out!

I love you so much , with all my heart Mal , Goodnight

Forever your Ann x x x

One of the joys and mysteries of life is the way in which a man and a woman can become one. The two come together physically, emotionally and spiritually. They are no longer two: they are one.

Good morning Ann

I'M LATE today. Thanks for your morning email. xxxxxxxxxxxx We have adverts for GAP jeans on here. They have that 'oversize' style here too. Looks very comfortable. I promise I'll write more to you later today, darling. I wish you hadn't mentioned that black gear; me and willy were thinking about that when I woke :( gulp!

got to rush now, sorry! All my love is yours.

Hello my darling Ann

After this morning's brief note here's a more substantial letter about my day. But first, I hope that your day is going well, and I want to thank you for the lovely sentiment at the end of your email to me. I believe it for you and me. Will you call on Josephine today for the cool bag? Will jose and his sidekick turn up? Send me another episode if we don't go on the im today xxxxxxxx.

The weather outside is that kind of evening bright greyness that happens just before a downpour - dramatic with that ominous feeling. I did go outside a little earlier to water the plants and there were a few drops, so I came back in. When I got in from work earlier on I was chatting to my neighbour and his mrs over the fence - he was giving me his 10c worth as a professional on the building quality - my builders have gone over the boundary line a little bit! There's still quite a bit of finishing up work to do, Ann. He wasn't really complaining and I did tell him that I had asked them to respect that partition in the spec, Ann! He himself had actually done a bit of the brickwork on the new room! They are going away at the end of June as well so he told me that his sister lives in the house opposite at the back and will keep an eye on the properties while we are away - it's nice to have such good neighbours. I was looking for a key to my small shed for the watering can and was rummaging around - noticed evidence that those builders had done the same before me - they get in everywhere, Ann. Wonder what on earth they were looking for or maybe it's just curiosity.

Back to the old grind as you mentioned on the 'phone yesterday, Ann - had lunch today in the staff restaurant with Paul and Ali again - that canteen has really gone downhill - 3rd day running they had pizza and sausage and chips and it's quite expensive now. Our move to the new building is happening this week, Ann - I forgot to mention - on Friday. it's only up the road and a much better environment - the air conditioning actually works. The only down side is that there's no restaurant in there so they are trying to arrange a visiting sandwich / salad man to come over. It'll be more pub at lunch for us lot. So, after my sausage and chips (i felt really bloated after that - never again) I went out and bought a pair of very nice lamps for the conservatory. Dave wanted to put strip lighting in there and I didn't fancy that at all, ann.

Earlier on in the day I went into my bank and started to make arrangements for that cashier's cheque for the antique - what a pulava, ann - have to wait for the return from the wire. I emailed out to that couple who should be back from their break today.

So, that's my really exciting day today:) I'm sure your's has been much better - I hope so.

and let me tell you again that I do love you so much

Good morning my Mal x x x

Well absolutely nothing new has happened since i chatted with you a few hours ago 'cept that i made dinner and thats really it! dog tried to beg off me- :( a real thrilling evening! A piece of trivia from that stupid therapist today- the conversation got arund to blocked toilets and it turned into a discussion about the latest in toilets and how much water is required by law now to flush them with the water saving law in effect and he told me and michael that the inventor of the modern day toilet complete with its u-bend was by the name of a bloke named Crapper!! :) so thats where the word comes from mal! first i asked him if he was joking and he said no!- you learn something new all the time Mal!

Now what does this have to do with Micheal's weight problem- the discussion of toilets, the latest ones out, how they work, and the inventer of the u-bend toilet? no wonder insurance rates go up- you could go for years and years and not solve your problems when sombody goes off the beaten track like that! By the way the pong was not there again today- could it be possible that one old geezer was causing all that stink and he is not going there at our time anymore? anyway , it smells ok in there now- but.....i have truly lost inspiration for my funny poem! :) the unfinished poem "Ode to a Pong" will never be completed!

Well Mal i am logging off - tired as usual - still raining a bit outside- but only lightly! I will miss you tonight like all the other nights ( and days too) and i wish i was in peaceful Thamesmead! how i loved those four little days!

Goodnight my Mal, i love you so with all my heart,

Forever your Ann x x x x

Good morning my sweetheart Ann xxxxx xxxxx

Hope you're feeling good today, Ann and that there's a lovely sunny day ahead of you after yesterday's storms. You are the sunlight in my universe xxxxxxxxxxxx. It's the eternal triangle darling, you, me and that fathead willy :)_\

That therapist sounds really crap himself - is that what he gets paid for? rambling on about bogs and ubends and such? I heard of Thomas Crapper - he invented a cistern here - i saw one once in the basement of a wine merchant where I was working in the 70s. I suppose it's good in a way, though ann - it must take michael's mind off that burgeoning amount of work that he has to do at least for a while. It's a bad time for a boy that age - it's when my own poor brother Tom got so ill Ann - i'm sure that won't happen to michael but an occasional diversion from such intense studying is essential I think. I know you won't let him overdo it, anyway xxxxx.

I too wish you were here with me - i'd serve you breakfast every day and love you whenever you wanted! Let's run away together ;). You know how much I miss you and long for you. Soon we'll be in each other's arms again and then.... mmmmmm!!!!!! I'm counting the days now until I'm with my true love, my Ann.

Time now for washing and making use of TCs invention etc. :)

No lates for me this week - I'll probably go to the garden place for more plants after work today; fancy leaving early. Take good care of yourself today for me, Ann and i'll close now, sending you my wishes for all sorts of good things to happen to you today.

I love you

your mal
YY

Good morning my Ann xxxxxxxxxxxx

Hope that you are feeling good today. So the 'mario bros' finally turned up to shift the junk! Did the sidekick turn up?

Yesterday, I did get to the garden centre after work - I left a little early. Got some potting compost, a virginia creeper and some ivy and a couple of ground cover plants. Don't think I'll be getting anymore for a while - none of those are planted in yet and that's what I'll be doing sometime next weekend. I have a good range now.

So you do have some flowers at your place, Ann - you should try a little feed for that rose, it is astounding what a difference that makes, I put this granular feed on the soil and they shoot up and bloom - the roses in front here like yours are in bloom right now a deep vivid red.

I managed to get my hair cut yesterday, as usual chatting to the hairdresser "any holidays this year, sir?" so I was telling him about my forthcoming flight. He said that there are more rats in New York than people! I said I was going to Bensonhurst in Brooklyn and he replied 'its a nice area'.

One of those antiques has arrived with ?145.47 'freight and duty/VAT' to pay on it. I have to go and pick it up from a depot today so I'll be doing that after work. I don't know why I have to pay YET MORE for an already expensive UPS delivery! But at least it arrived, so I'm looking forward to seeing what condition it's in. Hope it's ok and in 1 piece!

The builders did a bit more work in the conservatory, put another vent window in the roof, fixed some locks for openings in there and put in some finishing trims. They also cleared the garden of their gear. There's still quite a bit more trimming to do and guttering for the roof. The machines that open the roof vents are not fixed in properly and a few other bits and pieces need attention but all in all it looks pretty good, Ann. No lamps up yet.

Did you get in touch with Josephine in the end? We have our office move on Friday so we're preparing at work for that, I think we also have a bank holiday on monday so I'll be making inroads into that program - may even try to finish it!

If you're out 9.30 my time I'll try you when I get in about 7 here 2pm there (ish)? If I don't get through I'll try again tomorrow xxxxx. I get distraught now when we don't have a chat or im for longer than a day! Sticking to my promise to you, Ann :( it's hard. It's a fresh cool morning here. About to have my bath etc.

I do love you so and miss you terribly.

Good morning Ann - you are my true love xxxxxxxxxxxxxx!

Your light voice on the 'phone gives me such a thrill! How I long to see you again.

So you were right about being peeved at having to wait such a long time at the docs, but you must be relieved that Michael's not too bad and that he's getting in a few breaks from all of that work he has. I'm like you Ann - I really can't stand queues and waiting around! Just you take it easy though, Ann running up and down those stairs - stop if you get dizzy:( THANK YOU for doing whatever you're doing up there! and thanks again as well for letting me stay there xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx, I am looking so much forward to that.

I had a good look at that antique and it's in pretty good nick for the price Ann but quite dirty and in need of just a little restoration so I'll enjoy cleaning it - very carefully. It was a good buy and works fine, in spite of the extra duty. I still have the other one to come - I didn't hear from that couple yet - they are not very communicative! Hope they haven't sold it!

Forgot to mention that I spoke to Dave the builder on the 'phone yesterday about those machines on the roof vents - he told me he now has sciatica and is "laid up" for the next week but will get here on saturday so I'll be presenting him not with a cheque but with a list of finishing items to do!

As usual these days, willy was playing up, rageing this morning looking for attention but NO CHANCE. x :)

Let me tell you that I love and adore you so much, you are my darling and so special to me!

Enjoyed our chat last night - I miss you so much today - heart and soul and now body ;) I love you and now I am also filled with desire at the thought of you!

The builders did not turn up today so I just took a few pix of the garden - there is definitely film in the camera this time. I will have to get someone else to take a few snaps of moi.

Went out this morning for a little shopping - got some more bark!!! and also compost and bonemeal for the new plantings. I also bought a little drill with all sorts of attachments for restoring that antique.

That's about it so far today. I hope you got some periods of decent sleep last night - I was up late this morning, unusual for me but I was pretty tired last night. How I ache for you, my Ann. I do love you so.

lots to do now but more email later xxxxxxxxxxxxx my sweet heart, my Ann

Hello Ann and Good Morning xxxxxxxxxxx

I hope I'm not late with this and you're reading it in the morning! The workmen arrived today to finish off the remainder of those tasks - they are doing a good job so far but I had to go out to the DIY place for them to get electrical bits which they were short of. Also had to get an adapter for the water barrel which I got for the garden.

Trying to get some of that program done but it's proving difficult with the racket they are making!!! :(

I hope that they are able to make those skylights waterproof!

Anyway darling, thinking of you as usual this morning and wishing we were together right now and for always. Fancy a chat on the im tonight? I'll go online around 9 ish tonight and hope that I see you because I LOVE YOU, you are my sweet heart Ann xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.

Well, better go now - don't want those men to see that last message ;) actually I don't care xxx.

See you later I hope - if not or you'd like a different time, email me back xxxx.

Good morning my Mal,

I really feel rather exhausted tonight- i finished just one laundry tonight and because i hardly got any sleep last night , i am going to go to bed soon and hopefully get a few hours. I think the temp reached just about 90 today- but it felt hotter because of relatively high humidity ..Richard has rehersals for that graduation every day this week up until Friday ... I am tacking on a notice on the bathroom door saying that each person cannot use more than two bathtowells per week- that was Maryann's idea - the manhattan woman- she said its absurd to use all those towells up in less than a week and keep on giving me more and more work.i told them tonight too! no more than two towells each! so Richard says to me"I am going to keep track of who uses them" its so childish! and all i want to do is cut down my workload a bit!

I am logging off now, but not before telling you that you are my darling Mal and i love you so very much. Goodnight for now rrrrr

Yours forever,
Ann

Good morning my darling Ann xxxxxxxxxxx

Well I hope you managed to get that extra sleep in the night. The air conditioners must be on full these days 90 degrees - phew - that is very hot.

Had to park up the car properly last night and I noticed that the workmen had broken a light fitting in the porch - another job for Dave next saturday! Hope I don't get any more surprises like that, ann. There's also a problem with guttering next to john's next door and some repointing to do on brickwork. We have hoardes of ants here that will get in if that's not done.

I heard on the radio yesterday on the way to charlton that they have started the cheese rolling tradition again in Gloucester I think! I remember you mentioning that once - apparently, they had stopped because of 30 injuries last time due to cheeses flying out of control :)

Can't help thinking that those boys should try doing the housework and cooking once in a while - just so they know how much work is involved - but I guess there's not much chance of that yet, ann. You'll have to do what that Englishman abhores - down tools and go on strike! Up the workers!

Well nothing much else to report to you this morning except for my wishes for a pleasant morning to you and all of my love especially for you.

Bath now with 1 towel and then into the new office where everything will be ready and in place for me - NOT.

I love you.

You are my Ann and I am and will always be

Hello my Mal xxxx

This evening as i was preparing dinner that Russian from upstairs knocks on my door again to tell me abut that computor room door again- i said i still dont have anyone to do the job yet and he says to me "Vell ve have to get it fixed vight avay because ve have no door now" :( he was pressuring me so much over a non- emergency, and remember when stupid here didn'nt make a big deal over that flood of water that ruined my ceiling light fixture and caused water damage! i just brushed it off at the time, thats because i am too easy going and people see that and start to walk over me in time!

He is not letting up either about it and also telling me about a little shelf that collapsed in one of the kitchen cabinets- just needs the pegs to be put back in to rest the shelf on, thats all - the mans a total moron! cant do a thing around the house - stupid Russian!- lazy thats what he is -must be in a bad mood over something- i cant take tenants- none of them Mal , i have to sell this place- i can't deal with it - its too much and needs fixing all the time!

By the time he had finished his complaints at my door the dinner (pork chops ) had burnt! and i had to re-heat the left over chicken from yesterday - there was not much of it that either! "went the day well" who said that? Shakespeare? :( from the time me and Michael had been fighting in the early morning to the evening time , not a good day ,no sir! and i still have to get it fixed (the door).. i mean!

Oh well i am logging off Mal , going to do my beauty regimen and listen to the radio , relax and hope i get sleepy! only thing i know for sure is that i love you with all my heart Mal, Goodnight my love

Forever,
your Ann

Good morning Ann xxxxxxxxx

I hope you succeeded in getting a little more sleep last night.

What a terrible day you had yesterday what with one thing and another. It must be a pain living in the same place as your tenants as you said - you are at their beck and call all the time and at their mercy over the most trivial problems. Fancy not being able to fix a shelf themselves - they must have broken it themselves and should pay for both that and the door repairs and your water damage. Who else did it? Up the rent is what I say!

I had a bad start here today too, ann - it's raining at a fair rate here this morning and yes - the fanlight in the conservatory is leaking badly :(. There's a pool of water in there; just got a bucket under now. He was supposed to have fixed and tested that from my list last saturday. I'll 'phone him this morning from work. No payment until he does, ann! I'm like you, I don't like these situations and people think I'm an easy touch and will put up with crap like that - not this time; it's very expensive the whole job so no final payment until I know it's ok! Lucky I didn't get any carpet yet.

I hope you were able to give vent to your feelings yesterday to those boys - that rusky must have been the last straw as you said :(

I was on lates yesterday and got home quite late anyway after a queue on the motorway and shirts to safeways no wonder I was tired last night. I'm going to leave a little late this morning to try and miss the traffic and be more relaxed. Our little chat on the im saved my day. I love you, my Ann I really do and I belong to you. I can't wait to see you and we can talk properly again, make plans and have all of that physical contact we both need!

My darling, I hope and wish that today is much better for you xxxxxx. I LOVE YOU.

Good morning my darling Mal,

I hope it did'nt rain too long for you - letting in that rain ! the only way to really test a leaky roof is to see how it fare's with a few downpours of rain- that or using a hose on the area that the rain comes in by! Richard didnt go to rehersal till 1 pm today and came home at 3, we went straight to the shops for those graduation clothes-we got back about 5:30...i got that handy man over this morning- the junk man - and he fixed the Russians lousy door- took it off the hinge and added a piece of wood to the area to strenghten it before adding screws with larger heads - then he fixed that kitchen cabinet- put new dowells in and left a few spare for them- said you dont need to be in the KGB to understand how to do that :)

How did your day go Mal? i missed you so much and thought about you all the time i was out today! x x x my own sweet darling , i love you so much , how i long to see you and hold you again xxxxxxx I am going to say good night now , i love you now and forever,

Your Ann

Good morning my Ann xxxxxxxxxx

I'm sorry I didn't telephone yesterday - had a gruelling day at work and a dreadful journey to and from work. On the way in there was a horrendous accident which held up traffic for miles - with drivers doing the usual 'rubber necking' so I was quite late. On the way back they'd installed traffic lights due to roadworks near Godstone which again held things up for an hour. Had quite a good lunch with Chris, Robert, Paul, Paul (another one) and Ali; a burger and chips and a pint of bitter; a bit too much really but I was feeling hungry. I will probably have just a sandwich today, ann.

The result of all this was that I did my usual, did a bit of work when I got in and crashed out like a sack on the couch. I woke up at 4.30 here and wanted to 'phone you but I thought it was a little late and didn't want to wake you from any sleep you were managing to have! I'll phone tonight for sure ann around 8.30 here? I miss the consolation of your lovely voice xxxxxxx and a chat with you.

I 'phoned Dave and told him about the leak but had to leave a message. It was really stormy weather here yesterday but my plants are holding their own.

Glad you got those bits and pieces done for those pesky ruskies and I bet you are glad to get them out of your hair too. I hope Richard is happy with those flash things he has to wear 'Graduate Man' and that the rehearsals went well - does he have to make a speech?

Well, I'm off to have a bath and then to work - I'm late again but don't care really - so tired last night !!! As usual, you are my saving grace during the day - I have reinstated your photo on my desk xxxxxxxxx. I do love you so, my Ann - not too long to wait 'till we see each other again xxxxxxxxx. It's all I do these days - wait to see you again.

Yours forever
your mal

Hello Ann

Good Morning and
Happy Birthday with love and kisses from your Mal. So sorry that you had such a bad headache; I would like to kiss it better xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx. Darling, I love you and long so much to hold you in my arms again.

So it's quite a group of you going to that graduation. I hope that the weather eases off for tomorrow and that it's not too gruelling a day stuck in that hall for many hours. I reckon that eye thing you had is a symptom of stress as well! Just you take it easy, ann! I know how difficult that must be with those boys badgering you all the time, and all the chores and house probs that you have :( I only hope I'm not adding to those with my visit - it's the last thing I would want to do, ann - I want to make you feel good, of course and will do my best for you. Don't you worry about my comfort, as long as you are near I don't care about those trivial things, because I LOVE YOU, with all my heart. It's you who I'm longing to see xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.

I'll 'phone you again tonight when I get back from Ali's. But now for a 'wash and brush up' and then work. I wish you a lovely birthday day my ann and send you my kisses with true love and devotion from

Hello my Mal,

Your presents arrived about midmorinig, first the chocolates - which are heavenly! and i have hidden them :) And the beautiful flowers-i want to thank you so much for them Mal , you are a darling and i love you so!

I must go and let Tamba out in the back yard, i think she has to go! my eye still looks rather red, but i am like you i think it will heal itself given time - i look forward to your call later- but if you get back late from your friend or you fall asleep , its ok- i will be calling you up on Sunday anyway,

All my love to you my sweetheart Mal,
Forever your Ann rrr

Good morning my Mal,

Just a quick little note to thank you again for those lovely things you sent me - i will look out for that third package tomorrow in the morning.i hope you can get some more of that program done without too much racket being made from those workmen, it can't be easy with them around- i bet your so glad their are almost finished totally- just spray that leaky area well! a spritz won't do!

I will log off now - that red eye thing is watering a lot right now- must be the screen - goodnight my darling Mal- i love you so much with my whole heart

Forever your Ann

Good morning Ann xxxxxxxxxxxxx

I saw your im yesterday xxxxxx thanks xxx, sorry I missed you. I was thinking about you all day.

I hope you had an enjoyable and happy day yesterday, the the weather was cool and not too gruelling and that everything went well for Richard and your group. Looking forward to your call today xxxxxx and you can tell me how it went and whether that port arrived. I think that you can get 'witch hazel' from the chemist to hide blemishes in the white of the eye, I seem to remember that it can be used to hide bloodshot marks!

The workmen "finished" here, Ann. We tested the fanlights when I rigged up a hose to the upstairs window and gave them a thorough soaking. All looked ok and they finished off the rest of the bits and pieces I asked for. They're not very good when it comes to finishing things off - I had to tell dave I was not happy with some of the work on the edge before he reluctantly fixed it. This morning I find a 'slow puncture' has caused a leak - a few drops of water are still coming through :( I am fed up with them so I'll fix it myself - only way to make sure it's completely waterproof before I put carpet and rug down.

You probably guessed that I've been very busy working here, but I did take a break to do some more planting outside - it's starting to look really good out there. A little bit of exercise during a long day in front of the PC. I still have quite a bit to do, Ann but I will be so pleased and happy to finish this stage for tomorrow when, once again I'm off to the Costa Brava of the west, Reading. Going to leave early so I don't get stuck on that M25 motorway.

Sorry I didn't do email for you yesterday - had a lot of distractions going on from the building work etc. will you forgive me? ;) I do love you after all xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx I'll get back to my enjoyable routine with emails to you after today, darling.

In the meantime I must let you know that I love you so much, with all my heart. You're my Ann and I do love you so. I am

Good morning Mal x x x

Glad your program is coming along well and i am glad too that your work is finally complete around the house- i hate having workmen around- no more of that for me! i will tell you when that port arrives - probably sometime this coming week Its ok about not much e-mails - i know your busy Mal.

i just lay around for about 4 hours and didn't even go out for the stuffi really needed or the morning- ham and cheese for michaels sandwich- i'll give him money and he will have to buy lunch from the cafeteria i should have gone out it if only for that rubber band thing for the vacum cleaner- the dog hair gets ever thicker on the carpets- its so very bad- great tufts blowing aruond on the tiles - everywhere :(

I am thinking of seriously trying to find her a good home- the hair gets ever worse and i have Michaels serious asthma and Richards bad allergies to consider- your not supposed to have a dog when you have either asthma or allergies- its sad, but what else can we do? and it adds even more work for me to do and the house never ever feels really clean with all the hair- an unclean feeling- if you know what i mean- it gets into the appliances- electronics its truly everywhere! and when you get a direct ray of sunshine beaming down you can see it in the air- that all goes down your lungs:(

I will finish now Mal i love you dearly and always will x x x
Forever your Ann

Good morning Ann xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

I didn't finish that work yet - must do it this morning - I'll phone them and delay my appointment to this afternoon, and polish it off this morning.

You seemed to me to be very gloomy and depressed on the 'phone yesterday with all that talk of hell etc. maybe it was those tablets that did it with a side effect - it's catching, ann - I too felt gloomy after that! And why did you ask whether I really love you? Of course I do - I'm not making that up; it's difficult enough for me to say it and I do mean it I love you with all my heart and don't like to see you depressed - I know you are having such a hard time there what with the house, boys and everything but like I said I am hoping that we can make plans to remedy some of that. I am committed to you, my Ann, and want to be with you as far as I am concerned forever! xxxxxxxxxx

Anyway, enough of my moaning - don't want to add to your gloom ;) I hope you have a better day today and get those pesky ruskies sorted at least with the rent!

I love you
your Mal

I had to phone up those Russians for the rent check this morning - i told them i had to go to the bank and to please put it under the door-, which they did! I seem to have trouble after abounding trouble lately from all angles and my tolerence for it has gone way down due to me being very over tired and my nerves being frayed! but this i do know Mal ..........

"I love you with all my heart
now and forever,
and how i long to see you again"

Your Ann

Hello Mal,

Just a quick not to tell you that the port arrived today- it was behind my door after i got back from the bank- the Russians must have signed for it, thank you very muchxx i have put it on the bar till i get a decanter. bye for now

Hello Ann darling xxxxxxxxx

Forgive me, I'm sorry - I didn't mean to berate you xxxxxxxxxx I'm sure I don't really appreciate all the constant strain of those worries you have - I have it easy here and I forget that sometimes in my selfishness! Hope you forgive me and as the ities say 'forget about it' here's me sending you some warm kisses and hugs to make up for it xxxxxxxx. The (overdue) 'real thing' will be on it's way very soon express delivery air male for Ann Cohen.

It's half nine now and I just got in from that trip to Reading. The bloke there gave me a real grilling in front of his staff about the state of that program - he wants it all but complete before I come and see you Ann. He's a pain in the ass! Such a long way over there as well; and he can't get his email for communications/downloads sorted out :( There was a terrible torrent of rain on the way back - everyone driving real slow. I went past that Hamilton Hotel on the way back :)

Glad that port arrived safely. Don't drink it all at once ;) Glad those pesky ruskies coughed up maybe they got some of your vibes.

I love you so much. I want to bite you! Now! you are so delicious and I adore you!

you must surely know that I'm yours forever

Good morning my Mal xxx

It was a scorching hot day here today -95 ! - it felt like an oven outside - the bank was practically empty because not too many people - especially older ones will venture out in this heat! we were all dropping today- they did at one time on the radio in the morning forecast 100 , but thankfully it fell short, but Newark, New Jersey DID get 99 today and they are only 35 miles from here- hellhole that it is - full of drugs and crime- its a hotspot!

Will you be able to get that program finished off with your regular job to do as well Mal? i mean its not a very long time frame you have now before coming here- can you make it ? it will mean a lot of hours i suppose and them being so far away too- you must have had a very unpleasant day there today! all in all! :(

I feel extra tired and weak tonight- it must be the heat- they tell you to drink lots of water in this heat- our summer hot days can range anywhere between 90 to 97 usually, this hot day was an unexpected one! your flowers are still doing well on my dresser- i changed the water today!

I am going to finish now Mal , but not before i tell you that i love you so much and forever evermore, goodnight,

Forever your Ann

Good morning Ann xxxxxxxxxxxx

You are up very late this time - your night and my morning darling; it's 6.30am here so 1.30am is late for you. Hope that you're ok. From what you said in your email, i guess it's unbearably tropically hot there and that's why you can't sleep x. Hope those ims didn't annoy you too much x. I can just picture you dragging yourself up with those dings from your pc to have a quick read; staggering about in a sleepy state - that's how I am in the morning! xxxxx

Don't worry about that work I have to do, I will just have to knuckle down and get stuck into it properly - it's really not too bad, just that the bloke is a major ass hole. Should be able to cover this stage in time. xxx I asked about payment as a parry to his nagging and I felt he 'fobbed me off', saying that he would pay up when the job is finished. I will have to put in a block in the code now to stop them using it after a certain date without a password - to make sure they pay up!

Oh well, enough of that this morning - I am thinking of MY ANN right now, wishing all sorts of good things for you and most of all that this minute I could kiss and hug you and offer you some release from all of those cares and woes of yours.

A bath now and then that frigging drive in. :( Hope it cools off a bit for you there.

I will love you forever, my Ann

Hello Ann darling

I'm sorry that you have a problem with the eyes! It must have been a real shock to find that you couldn't move them around as you said; I would be in a dreadful panic and upset as well and feel that way for you xxxxxxxxxxxxx. No wonder you were up so late; another night without much sleep :( you must be exhausted all the time.

I think that it's all of that stress and lack of sleep you've been suffering with lately what with last saturday, the ruskies, the badgering, the house, the boys, the rent, the chairs, tamba, that neighbours dog and moped racket all the time etc etc etc etc. You are my poor girl and my darling - such a life you have there. It could even be a bit of flu or a virus on top of the stress - they can also often have the most bizarre of symptoms I remember my mum telling me.

Don't you go worrying about my visit - I don't want you to feel that you must look after me at all - it's me who wants to look after YOU xxxxxxxxxxxx so don't go doing anything special for me - it will be the other way round when I see you xxxxxxxxxxxxx. I do love you so, you are my Ann and I am on this earth to make you feel relaxed and happy and to do everything for you. That will make some change huh? xxxxxxxxx

Well now, I have to go and do some of that work - a few hours this evening. I hope that you can relax a little today, sweet heart and calm yourself down a bit and perhaps even get a little rest.

Not much to report to you today, Ann - went to lunch with Paul and Ali - the latter goes for an interview this week and the former has also mailshotted his CV. My pals will be gone but not for a while. I'm sure we'll stay in touch though. We went to a pub 'the home cottage' and had lunch in a conservatory that's part of the pub, very nice too I had this good ham & mustard sandwich - a 'doorstep' with a little salad. I'll be running support tomorrow; queries from the help desk as Ali is away to our build shop for most of the day.

BACK TO THE GRIND FOR ME :(

I do love you so my Ann

Hello my darling Mal,

I was up for hours on the internet last night looking up about eye disorders because when i was applying my nightly creams i checked my eye for that red thing and i realised that could not focus properly- i could not move my eyes up or down /sideways- i got very panicky! i went first thing this morning to the eye clinic and they made me see 3 different docs about it- its got them stumped- they cant find any optic nerve damage but my eyes remain unable to move properly- they said sometimes these phenonomas happen with the eye and they dont know why- i asked could stress cause it and one said 'yes".. its auful not being able your eyes Mal- they said that they hope it will correct itself and i should watch for any little improvements over the next few days-they told me not to worry about it! they looked at that red thing which is still there and told me its called a hemotoma!

There's always something huh Mal ? :( if its not thing its another - good thing i had gone to bed when you im'd me- thats the last thing you needed to hear in your hectic morning rush- my eye symptoms ! will try to see you on line later , but i wont keep you - i know you have to get on with that program big time. I love you so much Mal and i'll say good bye for now.XXX

Your Ann for ever and ever

Goodmorning my Mal x x x

After i hung up from you i called for pizza, but i did'nt have any of it as i had had that frozen entree- i just ordered a small one- a 6 slice one ! I got 4 wire slicker brushfuls of hair out of Tamba yesterday(she hates that) and theres me telling you that the dog didnt other me-(you must have thought me daft) i thought you were referring to next doors dog barking, which never hardly ever bothers me- that should be my biggest problem-Rocky! Tamba is shedding more than ever lately and sort of sliding her back along the couch - there was hair flying in the air- i had to get out the brush- and i got so much hair out! It is a terrible lot of extra work for me, and bad for Michaels's asthma but like i said i am attached to her and will not let her go till i find a loving home for her- its the least i can do- she is almost 5 years old now and has been shoved from home to home:(

That picture of me at the computor was a good one- if i have the courage i will show you how a few others others turned out when your here.I was tipsy and so was she- ( and we had not even gone out yet) i looked red faced in a few of them and look a bit silly! she took about 9 in between her drinks and that one turned out nice - that was to be our last night out-i think - It was also just about a week before that deposition ordeal too! .i dont like having pictures taken generally, but if you feel you must i wont stop you Mal,shoot away :(

It was so nice of you to call me today- a nice surprise- i hope they get your ticket sorted out for you- i will im you if i see you but i wont stay more than a few minutes- your too busy- i love chatting to you but i wont linger right now! your right it would make a lovely change to have something done for me - i love you so much Mal you are my sweet darling- everything is clean and ready upstairs for you- she was not a dirty person anyway- ('cept for the fridge) it was just dusty up there really! i will love you for ever - Goodnight my Mal

Your Ann

Good morning Ann

Whacked is how I feel this morning! I'm late too!

Hope you managed to get a bit of sleep darling and that you are feeling a little better today. Also that the weather 'hell's kitchen' has cooled off a bit.

I just wanted to tell you that I love you this morning and that I'm sending my little wishes for you along with kisses and hugs. I have to go and get my bath now - i'll 'phone tonight, sweet heart. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Hello my Mal,

Just a quick note to tell you that i will be out this afternoon and wont be back till around 5:30 my time, i guess thats the same time you called yesterday anyway.

Its a cool 85 here today and by tomorrow its going to be a lovely high of 76 - what a relief! i have just brushed 5 more slicker brushes of hair out of Tamba - i did i it outside this time- i saw large clumps of hair on the carpet last night and i checked this morning- i have been forgetting to do under the tummy area- i was combing big clumps off today- :( all over actually- i dont like to be rough under the tummy though- its a tender area.

Going to go now - i love you Mal and will always be your Ann XXX

bye for now

lots of love

Ann
p.s. i am able to slightly move my eyes today but for some reason they ache!

Good morning my Mal ,

I took Michael to that award thing last night and dropped him off- i saw all the parents going in so i went in too and i sat there for 2 hours and i saw Michael get an award in Latin- quite a hard subject too !i dont know how he got it- all that up to the early hours of the morning on the computor, but he got it! at the end when everyone all filed out he was not to too happy to see me there- -not very friendly- told me " i told you it would be a long ceremony" and i said 'but i am not complaining Michael" he just said a sort of grunt and we went home!

We got home about 9:35,and that was that! The air was so lovely and cool as we came out of the school- a really fresh cool breeze- the heatwave is officially over they tell us- thank goodness for that! I didnt eat a very big dinner- just a little bit of chicken and rice and as i sat in the auditorium i felt hungry for something made of cherries :)

I am tired and i am going to stack the dishwasher, walk Tamba out one last time and try to go to sleep- i do love you so Mal, my darling Mal XXX my one and only for the rest of my life, goodnight.

Forever your Ann

Good morning Ann darling

So very nice to hear your voice again on the 'phone last night, although my conversation was not too good - so tired I'm afraid. Well we were rudely interrupted by that bag of misery, Michael. Not surprised he was so grouchy - having to study Latin! You should tell him that he'll end up like the olde geezer! He probably picked some up from that olde ancient game - does he know any swear words in Latin? I suppose he does deserve congratulations but that makes 2 of us who don't like the way he berates you - WHAT A MOUTH! Glad that you 'sneaked in' to the hall to his endless shame ;) you must be proud of him in spite of the rudeness.

I woke up this morning on 'your side' of my bed and so did willy :) thinking about you and your chemise and hugging the duvet! mmmmmmmm xxxxxxxxxxxx

Wash and brush up now and then that drive. Lates. Will check on my tickets today.

How I do long for you. I love you.

The weather is as they said it would be today- cool and breezy and about 72 degrees, a perfect day - wish it would stay like this the whole summer! Did you get any of your program done when you got home? i know you were working lates, dont suppose you felt much like doing more when you got home either

It was a very ordinary day today Mal, nothing new to report at all! Michael must have stashed away that award,i havent even seen it! Its a very clear night tonight- all the stars are visible- very nice night- about 64 right now! i was looking up and thinking that 3000 is a long way away and i wish i could travel at the speed of light to you :( XXXX

I am going to go walk the dog and go to bed ( sadly without you) Take care my Mal, i love you so, good night.

I am forever,
Your Ann

Good morning my darling Ann

Glad that the weather has cooled off for you - it must be a relief to be able to go out now without that burning heat. It's the opposite of this yearning and passion I have for YOU which is
red hot ! :)

I was very tired yesterday, as you thought, after a late session at work and those problems I'm having to deal with there. I did a little bit of work when I got in, just some database stuff and then had something to eat - a couple of cheese pasties and some cherries! Soon after that I conked out yet again and went up to bed. My aunt phoned from Dublin last night and I told her about my holidays - she was expecting me this year. She is off to scotland and needed to ask if she could use my address to get a pensioners discount for some tickets up there. Her son Brendan, my cousin has now moved from Singapore back to Holland after many years over there. His wife and 2 boys are still in Singapore while he sorts out a house in Holland. My aunt is quite pleased about the move of course because it's much closer for her to see her grandchildren. She was telling me also about relatives in the states - I did our genealogy but there are so many of them I can't remember where they all are. Remember we were talking about 'christian brothers'? I have a distant cousin who is one (now retired) - he used to teach at a school in Paramus, new jersey. Also, one of my ancestors ran a bar 'conlons bar' in rockaway beach. There are more relatives in NY but I don't think I'm going to be looking them up, Ann.

I went into that travel agent yesterday - still no tickets but they said that they should be there any day now - so I'll go back each day until they arrive, it's just round the corner from work. Went to the 'firkin' with Paul & Ali for lunch and then got myself some shoes; boots and some light shoes. Maybe I'll get some of those 'gap' trousers today and some light clothes for when I come over. I am so excited about seeing you again. My darling Ann I really do love you so.

Spotted your im last night, while slogging away - thanks. I fancied a chat but will look forward to that if you're 'phoning today xxxxxxxxxxxx.

You were right with your e-mail - I read it while listening to 'sounds of the 60s' and having a coffee too! How well you know me!

Well Ann I'm still slogging away at that program, working hard on it in an attempt to get this stage finished well before I come over - it will give me some respite to sort out this place, clean up and get myself ready to come over for that promised massage :) Phone me anytime today - I won't be out this evening so any time after 6 here (1 pm there will be good for me - hope that's ok for you xxxxxx).

The weather's not brilliant here at the moment - a little cold with some rain so no gardening yet today. Instead I took a break from that program (have to) for a while and did some restoration on the music box I have here.

That's about it from me for this morning so far - except to tell you that I love you dearly for always and that I'm looking forward to our phone call today.

With love kisses and hugs from

Your mal

Good morning my Mal x x x

I'll start off my email by telling you how much i love you and how i long to see you again- i wish it was forever instead of just 3 weeks - i suppose that will fly by like the wind too ! happy times always go fast, the long, lonley laborious ones go slow -If we had met when we were young we never would have parted- of that i am certain! :(

I am leaving here about nine in the morning- should get there about 10:15- yes, i have not watched tv in about 7 months - except when i watched the video's with you- but i was happy then and enjoyed them- now i just read or listen to the radio! I am soon going to attack that soggy pile of towells tonight that are lying on the floor of the bathroom linen closet- Saturday night and i am still slogging away with the laundry! i have not even folded or put away stuff thats been washed yet either :( just had a cup of left over morning coffee to boost me up ! very tired - but like you said- if i don't do it- who will ?

If the kids had been brought up diffently i would not have such a problem now, but having such a time with my husband i could not guide them as i should have done- too busy running away from him or dealing with the trouble he got himself in and its serious consequences and repercusions and those kids were forced to sit in court too - that had a nasty toll on them- 7 and ten at the time were their ages- (imagine their shame) that blasted lawers fault - he thought it would evoke sympathy from the Jury!

With the exception of my kindly malpractice lawyer, i detest lawyers Mal - he said himself- "Ann, if your husband had not got himself in trouble your case would have been a really multi- million dollar one - a glorious case"! they win giant settlements-Kramer,Dillof , Duffey ,Tassel and Moore -they kick ass in court! He had a good heart though! - he knew i wanted it over with, and he felt sorry for me! he told me that too much dirt might have come out later on- that it was better to settle it now!

I am just thinking that two weeks tonight we will be together Mal (you will be fighting to stay awake) just two weeks! x x x i hope you will have a nice happy time here -just being with you will make me so happy! how i loved those 4 days with you- free and at peace! I could have stayed forever there! broke my heart to leave,it really did!

You will find it extremely noisy here and and fast paced- even where i live - its very hectic in general- the streets ,the traffic, i know london is fast paced , but this is worse! Its not a very clean place- Brooklyn-either its not Thamesmead, unfortunately! i ordered a thing from one of my catalogs- it came this afternoon- its called a Victorian love letter pillow -its made from a kind of pink tapestry print brocade and its got a tassel on it- its for putting love letters or other sentimental keepsakes in! its quite big- 17" long 15"wide that i hung it above my bed- did'nt know where else to put it! i put a few of the cards you sent me in it! the rest are on the shelf by my bed xxxx

Well Mal i am going now- got to get that laundry started- the towells :( oh dear! dont forget to email me so i have something from you to read when i come home from Staten Island tomorrow....I will end my letter as well as beginning it by telling you how much i love you Mal, and for rest of my life too , Goodnight.

Love always,
Your Ann

love!

Good morning Ann my darling xxxxxxxxxxx

That really was a lovely letter from you that I read this morning THANK YOU. I'm sitting here writing this morning in my stripy dressing gown, listening to one of those CDs (chopin waltzes) and having a cup of coffee and thinking about my love over 3000 miles away and fast asleep (I hope) after all that work yesterday and wishing that I was there with you snuggled up or that you were here with me, just relaxing and enjoying yourself.

Hope you managed to get your creams and such this morning in staten island. You'll be tired this morning of course. All I can think of is you, all day and I'll be sending you little virtual hugs and kisses and wishes for a good day today.

So sorry that you are exhausted with all of that continuous work you have to do for the boys. You seem to be at their beck and call and I can understand that this is partly because of history; you have HAD to look after them, protect them and worry about them for a very long time. No only is it the maternal instinct but those dreadful circumstances that you found yourself in with your husband's behaviour. You deserved better and still do! I'll help you out all I can when I come over xxxxxxxxxx. Like I said in our phone call yesterday, when we see each other we will have to talk over what we're going to do with our future together but for now you know that if you want to get away for a while you would be more than welcome here anytime you like xxxxxxxxxx.

I agree with you about lawyers as you know! I saw this one on the web and thought it was amusing...

A guy in a bar stands up and says, "All lawyers are assholes."
Another guy stands up and says "Hey...I resent that..."
The first guy says, "Why? Are you a lawyer?"
The second guy says, "No. I'm an asshole."

That victorian keepsake thing sounds very nice, I keep mine in brown envelopes for the year - not very sentimental :) but all of your cards are still on display on my bureau, a pleasing reminder of your tender affection and love each time I look over there xxxxxxxxxxx. I have another of those Jack Vettriano cards for you and I'll send that tomorrow x. I had to be quite surreptitious when I sent the last one, specially with those heart stickers - wrote my message at work :)

Yes, only 2 weeks to go until I see the one I love (tamba). Only kidding - IT'S YOU. And how I long for that moment. I'll take you out and away from that terrible rut you're so obviously in right now while I'm there - and hope to do that permanently. But we will have some fun I know; it's high time you had some diversions in your routine there! I hate it that you are forced to get so tired and emotional over all that drudgery.

Well it's 'back to the grind' for me - weather's looking a little better here this morning - sunshine so far - may take a break and do some planting later.

Ann - I love you and will do so forever

Good morning Ann darling xxxxxxxxx

I hope you got your creams and such yesterday and that you met up with your friend maryann during the day - too long a day to be on your own! xxxxxx You must have been glad to get away and out from that house though and those boys nagging at you through your door :).

Got quite a bit more work done - no gardening though. I want now to get it completed and out of the way for them; at least so that they can use it before further refinements if and when I get back. To do that, I'll have to take a couple of days off this week. Some of the data that he sent is very dodgy; all over the place and needed normalisation.

Had an email from that couple in red oak iowa last night; they are still awaiting my cashier's cheque - their postoffice told them it would take about 15 days - a ridiculous long wait. I took the liberty of giving them your address for dispatch of the antique. Also I sent them my receipt of posting in case they had any doubts - it should hopefully get sorted out this week. I hope there's nothing to pay on it when it arrives, Ann - you will let me know immediately of course if there is!

My Ann with the frizzy hair xxxxxxx who I love so much :). How I'm longing so much to see you again, darling. Not long to wait now.

Well it's WORK WORK WORK here for me today, will be so glad to see the back of this lot, believe me. Back to the grind now, with thoughts of you making my welcome diversion today.

I love you.

your mal, sending big hugs and kisses

Good morning Ann darling xxxxxxxxxx

You must be careful when you're out and about; I don't want anything even more nasty to happen to you - you already have enough of that. Don't know what I'd do without you, my Ann xxxxxxxxxxx :(. That must have been an awful shock for you, and you'll have to make sure that you're focussed when you navigate through those dreadful NY streets. Anyway enough of that - just watch it that's all ;)

Well Ann, when I woke this morning how I was wishing that I was cuddled up with you next to me here to hug squeeze and love. I sleep on 'my side' always with so much longing for you. I do love you so. xxxxxxxxxx

No email from that couple in Iowa yet - hoping that the cheque gets to them sometime this week.

Found this site for the Guggenheim I think it's open while I'm over (closed thursdays).

I'll get that card off to you later today. Hi ho - back to work for me now :( but my day is cheered when I think of you. Take care of yourself, I love you my ann forever.

Good morning Ann darling xxxxxxxxx

It went pretty well yesterday - got a good deal of work completed but there's more to do - I should have something workable for them by the end of next weekend, though. I need to get them off my back then at least for a while!

So I'm pretty tired this morning, Ann - I did get myself out yesterday to the Post office and also to a place where I brought a piece of one of those antiques - it's a cast iron piece that needs 'sand blasting' as part of the restoration. It will be ready on saturday, so I'll need some gold hammerite paint to stop any rust coming in; I'll try and get that today.

That's a lot of money the $76m but think of what is the cost of looking after such an invalide for the rest of their life. As usual the lawyers got their substantial cut. 12 1/2 years to settle is a long time. In my opinion it's a mistake thinking about whether you should have held out, ann. Your nerves are bad enough already lately and think about the wear and tear of waiting, together with the broadcasting of your husband's mottled career. You want to get on with your life, don't you? without all that hanging over you - the wait for the current business in the court must be bad enough for you!

That Solomon Guggenheim was on the Titanic and perished then I think:( Glad it's open - you probably saw that it faces central park on 5th ave. A wonderful building by Frank Lloyd Wright. That's the one I would like to visit with you.

Well, it was another humid and warm evening yesterday - a lovely sunny day too. Haven't made any arrangement for that air conditioning here, think I may leave that for later on in the year. I took a break yesterday after work (don't see you on line much these days and fancied a chat with you xxxxxxx) so I was looking at that auction site and put in some bids for some prezzies for the 2 lads for when I come over - they are not very expensive things; one is a poster print ad of a danny kaye movie 'the kid from Brooklyn', and the other is sheet music 'rich people of brooklyn'. If it's ok with you and my bids go through I'll have them sent to yours under my name 'care of Ann Cohen' so you know what they are. Perhaps I could get them framed when I come over - have to see if my bids go through.

Ann I'm missing you so much - each day without you makes it worse, 'specially with only these emails to each other, reminds me of 'smoke signals' over 3473 miles, 5591.53 kilometers :)

Darling I'm off to the office today and now for a wash and brush up but I have not forgotten to tell you that I love you with all of my heart and that I'll be thinking of you today and sending my wishes today again for lots of good things for my Ann.

Good evening darling (just for a change) xxxxxxxxxx

Here's your email wot i o u with love.

Hope that it all went well today for you and for Richard. Another busy day with you having to get up early yet again :( but I hope you managed to get to the shops and enjoyed having a look there. Spot anything nice?

So those kids don't appreciate nothing huh? Well these little gifts only cost a few dollars, Ann! $11 total! Really very cheap but I thought that they would find them amusing? Judging from what you said though, they don't seem to find anything much very amusing - the miserable sullen gits! Attached are pictures of them, the poster for richard and sheet music for michael. I'll do some cooking of course, when I come over, but that's really for you Ann. xxxxxxxxxx

At work it all went ok today, went to lunch with Ali and Paul again and had a BLT in the 'dog and duck' - no beer just fancied a coke. No tickets yet - went in there and she said "don't worry" I said that I was starting to get alarmed - only 10 days or so to go - she said "it's usual" - I said "can you please chase it up - i'm a worrier" she said yes and that she would 'phone. I'll be in there tomorrow Ann! If they don't arrive in the next couple of days I'll have to give them some verbal stick! Talk about the 11th hour :(

This evening I started planting out the rest of the vines and heathers and so on, but had to cut it short to write to you now; the neighbour was having a barbecue and a bit of a small party were there - all looking over the fence at me; sweating away, he did invite me but I always find that kind of food a little hard on the digestion and I was so scruffy for that garden work. He's a good bloke though, Ann - they're not going away now - he has just got himself a new piece of work for 6 weeks so he's agreed to keep an eye on the place and pick up my mail for me, thank goodness for good neighbours!

Just listening to the last of those new cds I got a while back - Grieg - Peer Gynt - lovely and calming music. I am going to make myself something to eat now, ann - yes ITS PIZZA which I got on the way home. Hope you enjoy the bangers and mash :)

My darling Ann how I wish I could hold you now and kiss those lovely lips, 10 days to wait until I will ask for your leave to do that! In the meantime I can only send you my virtual kisses in this email but I want you to know that my love for you is real and will last forever XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX. YY

Good morning my darling ann xxxxxxxxxxx

So sorry you had such a tiring day yesterday. Hope that you got some decent deep sleep after that pill x. You did earn it - there's nothing worse that I can think of to be waiting around for hours on end with not much to do.

Richard sounds like a real pompous ass hole and a misery to boot, to me, with a real bad mouth and no consideration for you ! I should hope that it's only to you that he privately issues such venom; he'll never talk to me that way! If he treats people like that in life he'll be in big trouble! After that day and that behaviour to you he'd better have have made it worthwhile and passed through the entrance exam!

Most of the time yesterday evening I was pulling out weeds from one section of the garden that's not yet planted at all. Also there's no bark down in that border area. I did manage to get a few planted - quite a bit more to do there, ann. I have a lot of small pots with different heathers in and lots of vines and ivy to do yet - spent quite a while deciding where to put the things. I got bit! A hot evening it was and my neighbours finished their party not too late, the food on their barbecue was smelling good! I didn't have that pizza after all - too late to eat.

I'll be going into that travel place again today of course, I'll make sure I get those tickets in my hands in the next couple of days.

I got your lovely card yesterday with the rose, it fills the room with your scent which is driving me crazy :) THANK YOU I like the messages xxxxxxxxxx

Bath now and work!

Thanks for putting up with my dopey conversation last night here are some more good morning kisses to you xxxxxxxxx. Like yourself nothing much to report - did get some good sleep but now I'm LATE :(

I just read an email from that couple in Ohio - they finally did get the cheque so that box is on it's way now to your address UPS. Hope there's nothing further to pay on it!

I'll make sure I get those tickets today. It's a 'dress down' day today in the office so I have to iron my jeans now :) Thinking of going to that garden centre tonight - need more compost and a broom.

Getting so excited now about being with you again and holding you tight. I really do love you so much.

I just got your card in this morning's post - very nice and much appreciated of course. I love those messages on the stickers on all your cards x. I'll be going out in the garden and using that fan for all the neighbours to see ;). No - it's very nice and perfectly acceptable and wholly appreciated - it is lovely of you and that you thought of me with the sentiment on that card xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx. THANK YOU!

Hope you got some good sleep for yourself after yesterday's troubles. You'll have to get Thomas to look at that coffee machine ;) You could maybe give it to him in appreciation for his efforts :)

That must be have been bad luck having that Krups, in your household especially, after what that company did during the war! Hitler's favourites they were. Get one of those boys to go out and fetch you a fresh coffee this morning, Ann (fat chance). Those machines are always on the blink - I'm sure they have "built-in obsolescence". I'm on my third here and I don't often make fresh. I know you won't be yourself until you get a slug of java inside you this morning sweet heart - sorry that you have to make do with instant - I'd definitely go out for you xxxxxxxxxx.

Your prediction was accurate as usual, here I am with my cup, listening to 'sounds of the 60's' yet again and thinking about my Ann who I love so much and who I'm yearning so much for.

Well, my love I'll be getting back to that wretched program now - have to go out later and pick up that sand-blasted piece - £15 they charge - pretty good. I have the gold paint for it. I'm looking forward to our phone call tomorrow and even more to seeing you again in just a week. I am all set up now, passport and tickets. Have to get to heathrow at 5.45 am on sat. 26th on BA0117 which leaves at 8.45am and arrives JFK at 11.25am. That will be a long day but I have my bet with you to stay awake ;) it'll be 22 hours if i collapse at 11pm there!

How much I long be with you again. I love you.

Good morning Ann my sweet heart or good afternoon if you read my sunday email late! XXXXXXXX

Thanks for your email and I hope that you are feeling ok today and that you had some good sleep.

I got quite a bit done yesterday but still more to complete today. Got completely fed up with it toward the evening - not good to spend too much time on the PC so I took a break and did a bit more restoration on one of those antiques. I painted the base which is made of cast iron; the one I picked up after having it sand blasted clean - they only charged me a tenner in the end - a small job for them. The paint job I did dried very quickly and it looks good, Ann but says on the can that it takes 5 weeks to 'cure' properly. I put 2 coats on it.

Had a nice salad yesterday - quick to prepare with those ready made potato salad packs from Safeway with some ham, cheese, salami and corned beef. I have a load of food in the fridge which I must use up during this week so no more groceries to get.

Maybe we could get you a good coffee machine when we're out to the Guggenheim when I'm over, there must be some stores around there?

I don't think my flight is going to be empty like yours - it's near 4th of July so I should think there will be quite a bit of commuting all around that date. I think I'll probably really need to get some shut eye on the plane but I know I probably won't be able to do that - like you I am! xxxxxxxxx

Looking forward to your call during my evening here. I bought a Dusty Springfield CD and went to put it on this morning - no CD in there :( will have to go out to safeway now and get it.

Well darling I told you how much I long to be with you, the feeling grows every day more and more. So excited about us! I love you Ann, and I'm yours forever!

Well the first thing i did after speaking to you was to retreive those cashews :) - i was looking at the bag- they are $6 per pound and there must be over half a pound in there still! - i put them upstairs out of my reach- your right about it being a waste, but they ARE very fattening , addicting too- cant stop eating them!

I have to do at least one load of laundry tonight- for the week ahead, still have sorting out to do from last week too...but its not as piled up as the other week though, Michael has that lousy weight therapist tomorrow.if you want to you can bring some cd's with you because i have a portable radio/ cd/player that you can use if you like your music- I worked it out that i was up 24 hours that day/night i got back home- from the time i left your house to getting back home and finally going to bed- it had to be about 24 hours-i had gone beyond tiredness!

I am going to go now Mal- going to get that bit of laundry and sorting out done ...I love you so much even though we dont say it much on the phone- how i love you my darling Mal.. Goodnight.

Forever your Ann

Good morning Ann my darling xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

I know I don't say it much on the 'phone either but I LOVE YOU with all my heart. You're all I can think about these days and how I long to see you and hold you tight never to let you go again. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

So you retrieved the cashews - well done; they're very expensive and a crime to chuck away but like you said, terribly bad for you. Save 'em and I'll cook something with them x. I'll bring a few cds with me then, I love listening to music as you know - the radio or cds so thanks xxx.

Will have to ask my boss for a couple of days off this week, so much to do now - was working 'till 2.30am this morning and still not finished - a lot of work - getting there though. You must really loath doing that frigging laundry week after week - like my bloody program:) The doctor pong clinic today as well. :( BE CAREFUL out there on the roads x.

Yes, it's going to be a 24 hour stint for me on saturday as well, so I'll find out what it feels like in the evening that day! I may be a bit groggy so expect your mal to be even more dopey than usual later on.

Well my love, I'm late this morning so it's a bath for me now and then that journey, so I'll say to you that I love you, I really do, I adore you and want you and need you so very badly. I'm yours.

Goodmorning my Mal,

I hope you feel more rested this morning..i didnt have hardly anything in the house to cook tonight so i made the usual franks and mashed potatoes for Mike and Richard wanted frozen pizza - i had another bowl of cereal and some ham, didnt fancy either of the things those lads had! i have no problem at all maintaining weight as long as long i dont eat and stuff myself late at night- i eat pretty much anything as long as its in the day, but i had stuffed myself for two nights in a row and felt bloated-now i am back to normal.. and wont do that late night binging anymore.

Richard really has nothing to do at all now ,and although he didnt like to get up early on Saturdays too much he misses that little job and the money-i think he saved every bit up from the time he started- which was around January i think :) that friend of his quit his part time job too- maybe because college is harder than school and they want to rest before the freshman year! but Rich is like a fish out of water now!

I am yawning here, the dishes are in the dishwasher, and i am about ready for bed myself - tired! ( at least the dark lines around your eyes will soon go away Mal ) mine remain :( - perpetualy sleepless- thats me! got to be grateful for the few hours i DO get, which are few and far between! I'd like to tenderly kiss away your dark circles Mal x x x i love you so! So deeply and so much! Goodnight my Mal

Good morning Ann darling xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Hope you had at least some good sleep last night - shortly after we chatted I was out like a light and feel so much better this morning for it - got in some deep zeds with a lot of snoring involved no doubt. I enjoyed our im! xxxxxx

Time now to water my plants (hope they're ok when I'm away) the weeds really thrive here - much more vigorous than those exotic plants. I still have more to plant in from the pots and I'll have to find time to do that before I come over.

Your weight thing is the same as mine - if I stuff myself with pasta for example it goes straight on but I can lose it without too much effort I think :) At the moment though I'm a bit tubby, all the better and ready for a good cuddle with my ann xxxxxxxxxx.

Well, darling, I better get on with it but not before I let you know that I adore you and love you so with all my heart. I found that funny about the kippers - your secret is out!

Good morning my Mal x x x

How did your day go? i know you said you have tomorrow and thrusday morning off- Thursday you have to go to sunny Reading-by-the-Sea :( i had quite a busy day- going here and there - i ended up going to MCDodnalds for dinner - not good i know! i spoke to my friend in england Janette today, she has been home since last wednesday and is pretty weak, but all things considering , is not doing so bad!

She says she remembers nothing all the time she was unconscious- no recollection of any one visiting her or talking to her , but did tell me of a very scary hallucination or whatever while she was under, said she was visited by three ugly witches all dressed in long Victorian clothes who tried to get her to go with them- she said she was terrified! she said it seemed very vivid and real and thinks it might be the time when her heart stopped for a while in the beginning! said they were pulling on her arms and cackling! the one said "come on, she wont come with us, lets go to Mark Avenue and see whats down there" she said they left with sounds of their heels on cobblestones- very loud! she said it was very frightening - whether or not it was the drugs she was on while she was on the respirator- she doesent know - i would be frightened too - how about you Mal?

She said her house was a dirty mess when she got home and said "men are hopeless you know" referring to Ralph (the old Tory - "two holidys in May!") who had tried to clean up a bit around the house and had not done much of a job either because thick dust lay everywhere! :)

I was looking at the weather for the weekend and its getting in the mid eighties by the weekend- Saturday high of about 85 or thereabouts they say - rather warm but who cares as long as we're togetherY only a few more days now- its still 75 right now , but a clear night with nice view of the half moon and stars- i just took out the garbage to the sidewalk for tomorrows pickup-thats how i know!

I have to take Michael to the doctors for his prescription tomorrow , but will be back around 4:30 5pm my time! I am going to finish now Mal- i love you with all my heart- soon i'll be able to show you with more than just words , goodnight my love

Your Ann forever

Good morning Ann darling xxxxxxxxxxxx

So it's going to be warm when I come over - I don't care either just as long as we're together xxxxxxxx. Paul at work came up with a suggestion worth considering - stay in an hotel near heathrow on friday night and I might do that depending on how much I have to do here.

A music box should arrive today, ann and if you feel like it, have a look and play it - I want to make sure it's ok. I hope you don't have to pay anything more for the delivery - I tried to ensure that did not happen.

Glad to hear that your friend over here is back home and at least on the road to recovery. That nightmare must have been dreadful! So colonel bagshott didn't keep the place very tidy - I know how easy it is to do that! He should be sacked with no appeals to tribunals.

Nothing much to report Ann - dull day at work yesterday, making preparation so that I don't leave anyone in the lurch. I had some of that chicken last night and conked out terribly tired. All I can do is think about us getting together again. Ten weeks apart and it seems like years. I love you.

I still have to polish that program off today. Also need to to my laundry!

I'll 'phone tonight around 10.15 here hope thats ok xxxxxxx.

So glad that you like that box and I hope it sounds good; they're great pieces of engineering and a pleasure to look at and listen to, JUST LIKE YOU xxxxxxxx. I had an email from that couple in Redoak who want to know when their one arrives - they have a refund of postage to send too. Would it be ok to access my email at yours? I would like to acknowledge and check the deliveries.

Well, darling, I'm up to my ears in it today, I don't think I'll be going into Reading - such a waste of time to visit there, I'll phone and bike over a cd this morning. I have to go to the bank and then down to Redhill as well today. I'm not going to burst my boiler over this job! That bloke there was supposed to get their systems people to contact me weeks ago and never did, he was also due to email a file yesterday, didn't do that either :( What a wind up!

Can't wait to see you again, Darling but for now I must carry on with my work. I enjoyed our chat last night and I want to tell you that I love you, my Ann. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
